CLEVELAND — Stephen Curry likes his “dad shoes.”
Twitter has been mocking the “Chef Curry” version of the Curry 2 Low shoe for a few days now. Because they look like the shoe your grandmother wears to go on her mall walking exercise outing. Curry likes them, thank you very much.
Curry still likes them, thank you very much.
“If I had them in the road bag I would have definitely worn them and showed you how fire they are,” Curry said after the game. “I love the nicknames, though, they came up with, but I like them.”
Good for him. Under Armour is paying him a lot of money and he is selling a lot of shoes — the Curry 2 is selling domestically about as well as LeBron James’ or Kobe Bryant’s signature shoes. He can afford to have a little fun — and defend the shoes.
But the jokes are not going to stop.
