The Warriors traded for Nemanja Nedovic back on draft night in 2013 to gamble on his potential. He bounced between the Warriors bench and the D-League last season, then this summer was off to his native Serbia to be on that team’s roster for the World Cup.
But that’s not happening, according to a report in the Bay Area News Group. The Warriors were informed guard Nemanja Nedovic suffered a stress fracture in his right foot while training with the Serbian national team for the FIBA World Cup, a Warriors spokesman said Tuesday….
A team doctor told Mondo.rs that Nedovic would return to Belgrade for an MRI exam on what’s believed to be a fracture of the fifth metatarsal, adding that he would need to have it immobilized for three to four weeks if the fracture is confirmed.
For a guy trying to develop his game like Nedovic the summer is key — that is when he can really work on parts of his game, his strength, plus the experience of the World Cup would have helped. Now none of that happens.
There is no exact timetable yet for Nedovic’s return.
