Report: Out-of-power Kings GM Pete D’Alessandro could leave for St. John’s

Minnesota Timberwolves v Sacramento Kings

Pete D’Alessandro is the Kings’ general manager.

New hire Vlade Divac is reportedly running Sacramento’s front office, or coach George Karl is.

Either way, you can see why D’Alessandro might want out.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports:

If D’Alessandro gets the job, he’d oversee Chris Mullin – who bolted Sacramento’s front office to coach St. John’s.

Maybe they can start a support group about the difficulties of working for Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé. Mike Malone and Tyrone Corbin could join. It’s only a matter of time until Divac and Karl have interest.

At this point, the Kings probably aren’t overly concerned whether D’Alessandro stays or goes. But they should be concerned with how they got into this position.
