The Raptors, with the advisement of Drake, are rebranding themselves. At one point, word was they’d switch to a black-and-gold color scheme, but it appears they’re keeping their red.
For reference, the old logo is to the right.

Raptors say it wasn’t ideal to release it now, but as it goes through trademark process, someone would have found out and revealed it.

Uniforms, other elements and colours will be out in new year, but nothing for sale until next fall.

Also, Sid Lee did the re-design (same as We the North) Drake was “one voice on it.” Consulted. So not fair to say it’s Drake’s logo.

The Raptors later swapped this black-and-white version onto their Facebook page:

That didn’t stop the Nets from commenting on the similarity of this version of the logo to Brooklyn’s:

Overall, I like the new look for the Raptors. It’s simple and clean, and the curved words look old school. The Raptor claws blending into the basketball are a nice touch.
Before I can offer a full opinion, though, I’ll need to see it shaved into Amir Johnson’s head.
