Kyrie Irving has said he will re-sign with the Boston Celtics. Team president and guy with the hammer Danny Ainge has said they will bring him back.
And yet, talking to people around the league, the rumors that Irving could bolt Boston after this season will not die — they even gain momentum with Irving calling out the team’s young core.
Irving was out Monday night (right quad contusion) as Boston went to Brooklyn and lost to the feisty Nets. Near the end of the game, Nets fans serenaded the Boston bench with “Kyrie’s leaving” chants.

Well played, Nets fans.
Of course, if Irving were to leave, the most mentioned landing spot is in New York — the team that plays in Manhattan, not the one in Brooklyn.
