LeBron James is facing his former Miami Heat teammates for the first time since returning home to the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer. The exhibition game in Rio de Janiero has been heavy on drama since the two teams got to Brazil a few days ago, and the fireworks didn’t stop once the game tipped off.
James’ first basket of the night was this transition dunk over Chris Bosh, coming on a Kevin Love-esque outlet pass from point guard Matthew Dellavedova (who’s filling in for the injured Kyrie Irving):
Things have been sort of awkward between the Cavs and Heat since the preseason began. A few days ago, Bosh said he hasn’t talked to James since he left the Heat, and then he said there are “no hard feelings” between them. James, for his part, says he’s still friends with his former Heat teammates.
But drama aside, the basketball is still great, and should be even more exciting when these two teams meet in the regular season.
