LeBron James has been playing without a headband for several weeks, but he had been mum on his reason.

In case you were still wondering…

LeBron, via Chris Hanes of Cleveland.com:

“I did it because I just wanted to look like my teammates,” James told Northeast Ohio Media Group. “Just wanted to be one. Nothing more than that.”

Ironically, LeBron ditching the headband only called more attention to himself.

That doesn’t mean LeBron’s motives were impure, but his stated reasoning didn’t really work – at least from the outside. Headband or not, the 6-foot-8, 250-pound, muscular, quick-as-a-flash LeBron still looks mighty different from his teammates.

Maybe they appreciated the gesture, though.
