Despite not being at full strength all season, the Cleveland Cavaliers have the best record in the Eastern Conference at 17-7. It’s about the best start they could have hoped for with Kyrie Irving still recovering from surgery after fracturing his left kneecap in Game 1 of the Finals last June. Irving has been getting close in his rehab and there were reports that he would play on Thursday against the Thunder. That turned out not to be the case, but Irving announced on Twitter in no uncertain terms that he’s going to make his return on Sunday against the 76ers:
I'm back.

That’s about as clear as it can get. Irving will be on the court on Sunday against the Sixers. Assuming all goes well, he’ll also play Wednesday against the Knicks, which will give him two games to get his feet wet before the Christmas Day Finals rematch with the Warriors.
