Kyle Korver made 2-of-4 3-pointers in the Hawks’ win over the Pacers last night – and his 3-point percentage went down.

Thankfully, it isn’t all bad news for the Atlanta wing.

Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Korver is making 53.5 percent of his 3-pointers this season (130-of-243). The only other time someone has shot a higher percentage from beyond the arc with at least 50 attempts was 2009-10, when Korver shot 53.6 percent (59-of-110).

If Korver stays healthy, he’s on track to shatter the record for 3-point percentage with a minimum of 250 attempts – 47.8 by Joe Johnson in 2004-05,

Korver hasn’t competed in a 3-point shootout since 2005, when he finished second to Quentin Richardson. Korver also finished third in 2004, behind Voshon Lenard and Peja Stojakovic.

Only Ellis (1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1994, 1997 and 1998) and Ray Ray (2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2011) had 3-point shootout appearances extend over a period of more than 10 years. The NBA has clearly noticed how long Korver has been doing this well.

I’m just glad he’s being recognized for something other than dunking.
