Former Knicks executive Anucha Browne Sanders successfully sued Isiah Thomas and Madison Square Garden in 2007 for sexual harassment.
As a result of the lawsuit, Knicks owner James Dolan had to pay Brown Sanders $11.6 million.
Now, he says she made up her story.
Dolan, via HBO Real Sports:
I don’t know exactly what happened between Browne Sanders and Thomas. He denied wrongdoing.
But a jury found that he sexually harassed her. That means something.
I also know I don’t trust Dolan on much, especially on Thomas. Dolan’s personal affinity for Thomas has outweighed smart decisions time and time again.
Incorrect verdicts happen. Maybe Dolan has evidence that fairly refutes Browne Sanders’ claims.
But did Dolan properly research this issue? Or did he just take his friend Isiah’s word over Browne Sanders’?
Presented with as much evidence as either side deemed worthy, a jury of four women and three men sided with Browne Sanders. Unless Dolan produces new information, I’m certainly trusting the jury over him.
