In July, Jamal Crawford return to the Clippers on a three-year, $42 million deal. But from the sound of it, he doesn’t necessarily want to be done playing after that. A response to a fan’s tweet indicated that Crawford wants to play five more seasons, which would put him at age 41.

Crawford, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, is 36. He’ll be 39 when his new contract is up and 41 if he plays two more seasons after that. But he’s been extremely durable throughout his career, playing in at least 60 games every year since 2007-08 and playing fewer than 65 only three times in a 16-year career. Crawford is also one of the most well-liked and respected teammates around the league, so it’s not unthinkable that teams will keep him around as a locker-room presence in a few years, even after his years as a productive player are over. Staying in the league that long is rare these days, but if anyone can pull it off, it’s probably Crawford.
