Former Bull Quintin Dailey found dead

QDailey

Former Chicago Bull Quintin Dailey has been found dead in his Las Vegas home, having succumbed to heart disease at age 49, according to the Associated Press.

Daily came to the NBA out of the University of San Francisco, drafted seventh overall in 1982 by Bulls and had a solid NBA career that included stops with the Los Angeles Clippers and Seattle Supersonics. He was named to the All Rookie team his first year and averaged 14.1 points per game over his career.

Dailey was also at the center of a controversy — the alleged rape of a nursing student, to which he eventually pled guilty to aggravated assault — that gave momentum to efforts to shut down the USF basketball program.

Dailey now was working with at-risk children in the Vegas area, giving back of his time.
