The Rockets beat the Suns in thrilling fashion on Friday, thanks to a James Harden step-back at the buzzer.
Dwight Howard, however, wasn’t around to see it.
He exited the game after just eight minutes due to an ankle injury, and while the severity of it is not known at this time, he was unable to return, and was seen leaving the arena in a walking boot afterward.
From The Associated Press:“I really couldn’t put any pressure on it,” Howard said after Houston’s win. “But we got the win, so that’s the only thing that matters.”
Howard had five points and three rebounds in 8:29 of playing time. He seemed light-hearted, singing in the locker room before saying that his ankle felt a little better.
Rockets coach Kevin McHale said the team would know more on Saturday about Howard’s status for upcoming games.
Howard hit his first three-pointer of the season before exiting with the injury.
