Chris Paul and his son appear in latest State Farm ad to debut Christmas Day (VIDEO)

Lil Cliff, Lil Chris -- State Farm

Chris Paul (and his alter ego Cliff) have been part of an ad campaign for State Farm Insurance for some time. Now, it appears that Paul’s son will be getting into this portion of the family business.

From the official release:

“Heritage of the Assist,” which will debut during the NBA games on Christmas Day, tells the story of the ancestors of Chris and Cliff Paul and will introduce two new characters: Lil’ Chris and Lil’ Cliff, both played by Chris Paul Jr. (see attached image). At the request of the youngest Pauls, Chris and Cliff delve deep into their lineage to answer the question, “Where do assists come from?”

The story begins in 1922, the year State Farm was founded, with Clifford Paul Sr. Sr. Sr. a store owner that inspires his next door neighbor, a State Farm agent, to be there for customers “like a good neighbor.” At the time, Christopher Paul Sr. Sr. Sr. is revolutionizing the game of basketball by suggesting that players pass the ball to other players.

We’ve seen Paul’s son on camera before, albeit in a somewhat more low-key setting -- the youngster delivered a perfect impression of Paul’s teammate Blake Griffin during the 2012 NBA playoffs.
