Watch the Pacers’ offense the past few weeks and it is stagnant and a bit disorganized — guys not moving off the ball, guys trying to do too much when they do get the ball.
A more traditional point guard alone is not going to solve the Pacers’ issues, but having one around with the second unit and a little more depth certainly would help (as will a little rest).
The Pacer are about to get that traditional point guard back — C.J. Watson practiced with the team on Tuesday and hopes to play Wednesday night, reports the team’s official Web site. Whether or not he plays against the Bucks Wednesday depends on how his body responds to the practice.
Watson had been out 17 of the Pacers last 18 games (he hasn’t played since March 14) with what was first described as a hamstring injury, but he said more recently that it was a sore right elbow.
The Pacers will likely rest David West and maybe Paul George and others in that game Wednesday against Milwaukee.
What will be more interesting is to see who the Pacers play Friday against the Heat in what could be a big game for deciding the No. 1 seed in the East.
