Former players far too often talk glowingly about their era and denigrate current current. “Back in my day, we walked to games uphill – both ways – and played the full 48 minutes harder than these kids today. Get off my lawn"… etc., etc.

But Allen Iverson refreshingly goes the other way.

Let me just say one more time how nice it is to hear Iverson compliment two current players at the expense of himself.

But I think Iverson is wrong.

Curry and Irving are great ball-handlers, but they’re also far better shooters than Iverson ever was. That gives them space to operate that Iverson never had. Defenders could play a step farther back from Iverson. Do that to Curry or Irving, and they’ll drill a jumper.
