Michael Jordan won the 1988 dunk contest against Dominique Wilkins with an iconic free throw line dunk that remains one of the greatest in the event’s history.
This was long before props and costumes (and more recently, a terrible format change) ruined the dunk contest, of course, and Jordan’s dunk is a nice reminder of the showcase of athleticism and creativity that once made it so exciting to watch.
A photograph of another angle of this historic moment has recently surfaced, and it is as glorious as you might imagine.
[This was floating around on Twitter earlier today, I believe the proper credit should be given to Aaron Stehn and Michael Jordan Mexico.]
