PJ Washington (ankle) is questionable for Saturday’s matchup with the Bulls, and Anthony Davis (adductor) is probable.
Washington has missed two straight and is in danger of missing a third. If he’s sidelined, Naji Marshall should see additional playing time. Davis should be available and should see close to 30 minutes after logging 29 in his last game out.
  • DAL Power Forward #3
Spencer Dinwiddie, Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, Anthony Davis and Kai Jones will start against the Magic on Thursday.
AD is back after sitting out the second night of the Mavs’ back-to-back on Thursday. However, with PJ Washington sidelined for a second-straight game, Naji Marshall will remain in the starting unit. Kessler Edwards will return to playing a reserve role, which will eliminate the streaming value that he held.
  • DAL Power Forward #3
Anthony Davis (groin) is available to play against the Magic on Thursday.
As expected, AD will be back in the lineup after sitting out against New York on Tuesday, which was the second night of a back-to-back. Davis will return to his normal spot in the starting unit, which will send Naji Marshall back to playing a significant reserve role. AD will continue to play on a minutes restriction of 24-28 minutes.
  • DAL Power Forward #3
NBA insider Marc Stein reports that Anthony Davis (groin) is expected to play in Thursday’s game against the Magic.
The status update for Davis is unsurprising. He was held out of Tuesday’s loss to the Knicks because that was Dallas’ second game in as many nights. His return will push Naji Marshall to the bench. However, due to the Mavericks’ lack of depth, Marshall will continue to figure prominently in the rotation. He’s worth holding onto for the rest of the season.
  • DAL Power Forward #3
Anthony Davis (groin) is questionable for Thursday’s game against the Magic.
Davis did not play in Tuesday’s loss to the Knicks, Dallas’ second game in as many nights. If he does return on Thursday, Naji Marshall will likely drop to the bench. However, given the current state of the Mavericks’ rotation, managers who have Marshall rostered should hold onto him.
  • DAL Small Forward #13
Naji Marshall finished Tuesday’s loss to the Knicks with 38 points (17-of-25 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and one three-pointer in 38 minutes.
Marshall was outstanding during the first half of Tuesday’s game, making the Knicks pay regardless of who was guarding him. The Mavericks forward shot 13-of-15 from the field and scored 28 points. Marshall’s 13 field goals tied him for the most in a half against the Knicks with LeBron James, Luka Doncic and Kobe Bryant. Naji would finish with a career-high 38 on 68 percent shooting from the field. Marshall will likely return to the bench on Thursday in Orlando since Anthony Davis (groin) will be available. However, given the current state of the Mavericks’ roster, he needs to be held in 12-team leagues.
  • DAL Small Forward #20
Spencer Dinwiddie, Klay Thompson, Kessler Edwards, Naji Marshall and Kai Jones will start Tuesday’s game against the Knicks.
The Mavericks are without PJ Washington and Anthony Davis, opening up two spots in the starting lineup. While Marshall has been worth rostering in standard leagues whether he starts or comes off the bench, that has not been the case for Edwards. Also, with this being the 50th game Edwards has been active for this season, this may be his last appearance in a Mavericks uniform unless he’s given a standard contract.
  • DAL Power Forward #25
PJ Washington (ankle) has been ruled out of Tuesday’s matchup with the Knicks, and Brandon Williams (back) is available.
Washington’s absence should mean increased playing time for Naji Marshall. Williams should see meaningful minutes and is worth streaming if you need him. He’s averaged 16.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists across 26.9 minutes over his last eight games, including two starts.
  • DAL Power Forward #3
Anthony Davis (adductor) and Caleb Martin (hip) have been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Knicks.
Davis is out after returning for one game against the Nets, while Martin is set to miss his sixth-straight game. Naji Marshall has a clear path to start and ramp up his minutes against the Knicks on Tuesday with both of these forwards out of commission.
  • DAL Power Forward #25
PJ Washington (ankle) and Brandon Williams (back) are questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Knicks.
Washington has been one of the Mavericks’ most productive scorers since returning from injury, while Brandon Williams has been demoted to a bench role. Naji Marshall could be poised to return to the starting lineup if Washington and Davis are ruled out. Jaden Hardy could benefit from Williams missing some time.
