Anthony Edwards struggled on Monday and finished with just eight points (3-of-13 FGs), seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and one triple against the Lakers.

Entering this game, Edwards had scored at least 20 points in all 19 of his appearances. However, that streak came to a screeching halt in this game as he failed to score in double figures at all. They took control of the game with Edwards on the bench, which isn’t a bad thing for the team, even if it isn’t great for fantasy managers. This won’t be the case often, and Edwards should have no issues getting back on track against the other Los Angeles team on Wednesday.

Donte DiVincenzo provided a boost off the bench with 11 points (4-of-8 FGs), five rebounds, nine assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in a 109-80 win over the Lakers on Monday.

DiVincenzo is known for being a shooter, and while he was able to knock down some 3-pointers in this game, he made his biggest impact as a passer. He set a new season-high for assists and tied the second-highest assist output of his career in this game. It has been a disappointing year for DiVincenzo, but he played well in this one. However, this isn’t necessarily going to jumpstart his production. He shouldn’t be considered a must-roster player just because of this performance.

MIN Power Forward #30

Julius Randle led Minnesota with 18 points (6-of-13 FGs), five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two 3-pointers against the Lakers on Monday.

Randle led a balanced attack from Minnesota in this game, and he was one of five players to score in double figures for them, though three of those were reserves. The starting lineup struggled, but the bench provided enough of a boost for them to get the blowout win. Randle’s numbers are down this year, though he has been more efficient than he ever was with the Knicks. This wasn’t a spectacular performance for him, but it was enough for them to get a second straight victory.

Mike Conley turned in a solid line on Friday with 13 points (3-of-7 FGs), two rebounds, three assists, two steals and three 3-pointers against the Clippers.

Conley got off to a poor start to this season, but he has played well since returning from a three-game absence due to a toe sprain. His field goal percentage still hasn’t been great, but the numbers in the box score have been solid. His return has bumped Rob Dillingham out of the rotation entirely, since Conley has played more than 30 minutes in each of his last two games. Conley should continue to be a solid source of assists, steals and 3-pointers for the rest of the season.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker

MIN Shooting Guard #9

Nickeil Alexander-Walker provided a boost off the bench with 12 points (4-of-10 FGs), 10 rebounds, one assist, two steals and two 3-pointers against the Clippers on Friday.

NAW has been a solid rotation piece for Minnesota this season, but that hasn’t always translated into fantasy production. However, he is in the midst of a strong stretch. He has scored in double figures in three straight games and recorded his first double-double of the season in this one. With both Donte DiVincenzo and Jaden McDaniels struggling this season, NAW has been vital to keeping this Timberwolves team competitive. Unfortunately, he still hasn’t been good enough statistically for him to be considered a must-roster player, though he is having the best season of his career.

Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 21 points (7-of-21 FGs), four rebounds, three assists, two steals and four 3-pointers in a 93-92 win over the Clippers on Friday.

Edwards didn’t have an efficient shooting night against a tough defense, but he was still able to do enough to help them get the win. He scored the final six points for his team to help them end their four-game losing streak. This was tied for his lowest scoring output this season, but he still hasn’t scored less than 20 points in a game this year. This was their final matchup of the week, but they have a four-game week coming up, starting with a home game against the Lakers on Monday. Look for Edwards to have a better night in that one.

Rostered in 4% of Yahoo leagues, Alexander-Walker has not been consistent enough to merit a higher percentage. But he played well on Wednesday, and the minutes comparison between him and Donte DiVincenzo is worth tracking. DiVincenzo’s struggles continued on Wednesday, as he shot 2-of-7 from the field and scored five points in 25 minutes. The rostered percentage should increase if the minutes flip and Alexander-Walker plays more than DiVincenzo.
