Bones Hyland tallied 20 points (6-of-11 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), three rebounds, two assists, one steal and four three-pointers in Friday’s loss to the Pelicans.
While the Timberwolves await the expected return of Mike Conley and Ayo Dosunmu’s debut, Hyland has held down the fort as the first guard off the bench. For the first time this season, he’s recorded back-to-back 20-point games, doing so efficiently. In games against the Raptors and Pelicans, Hyland totaled 40 points on 14-of-23 shooting from the field. While he isn’t a must-stream player, Bones has a higher short-term ceiling because of Minnesota’s lack of perimeter depth.
  • ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Mike Conley has re-signed with the Timberwolves.
Conley was dealt to the Bulls and Hornets ahead of the trade deadline, but Conley will stay put in Minnesota after getting waived by Charlotte. Conley wasn’t a viable fantasy option before the deadline, and that’s even more true now after the Wolves brought in Ayo Dosunmu to the backcourt.
  • Hornets waived Mike Conley.
This was expected, and the veteran guard should be able to find a new team to join. There are rumors that he could return to Minnesota to finish out the season, but wherever he ends up, his role will be too limited to make a fantasy impact.
  • Mike Conley has been traded to the Hornets.
Conley was traded to Chicago on Tuesday, but reports indicated that he wouldn’t stick around. One day later, and he’s now in Charlotte. If he remains with the Hornets, he’ll provide a veteran presence in the locker room for a team that is trying to return to the postseason. That is good for Charlotte, but it doesn’t leave Conley with enough minutes for fantasy managers to consider him as an option.
  • CHA Guard #0
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Hornets have acquired Coby White and Mike Conley in exchange for Collin Sexton, Ousmane Dieng and three second-round picks.
Numerous teams were interested in making a move for White, and Charlotte has won the sweepstakes. With Sexton heading to Chicago, White will likely fill out the sixth man role that Sexton previously occupied and should start when LaMelo Ball comes off the bench during back-to-backs. This isn’t an ideal landing spot for White from a fantasy perspective, though he should still play enough minutes to provide some value.
  • CHI Guard #10
NBA Insider Chris Haynes reports Mike Conley isn’t expected to remain with the Bulls past the trade deadline.
Conley was moved from the Timberwolves to the Bulls in a three-team trade Tuesday afternoon. With the Bulls’ glut of backcourt players, it’s not much of a surprise that the organization plans to let the 38-year-old point guard move on. Chicago will work with Conley to find a trade partner, likely one in need of point guard depth.
  • CHI Guard #10
Mike Conley has been traded to the Chicago Bulls in a multi-team deal, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Conley will head to Chi-Town with Jaden Ivey as Kevin Huerter and Dario Šarić end up in Detroit, and the Timberwolves send a 2026 protected first-round pick swap to the Pistons. The Wolves save money and roster space as they look to amp up their pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo. Conley’s role isn’t expected to expand with his new team, and he can remain on the waiver wire in most formats.
  • MIN Guard #5
Anthony Edwards (back) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Grizzlies.
Edwards is dealing with back spasms. His status is up in the air for Monday’s game against the Grizzlies. If he’s ruled out, Mike Conley could start in his place, though Bones Hyland has been the better streaming option when Edwards has missed games before.
  • MIN Guard #10
Mike Conley (back) is not on the injury report against the Grizzlies on Saturday.
Conley missed Thursday’s game against the Thunder, which led to Bones Hyland and Jaylen Clark taking on a few extra minutes off the bench. Conley will be part of the mix in the guard rotation off the bench against Memphis.
  • MIN Guard #10
Mike Conley is out for Thursday’s game against the Thunder with back spasms.
Conley is averaging just under 20 minutes a game for the Wolves over the last two weeks, but is not a huge part of their offensive production. Bones Hyland will likely pick up extra minutes off the bench tonight, but his tough matchup against the Thunder makes it difficult to stream him in fantasy.
