Ruffin

Since the Jazz don’t have anyone to activate, Carlos Arroyo won’t go on the injured list immediately. The Jazz could sign another point guard and disable Arroyo to make room.

Ruffin has started all 23 games in which he’s played, but is expected to sit behind Tom Gugliotta now.

The 26-year-old Ruffin has spent the last two seasons in Spain. He’s played in 131 NBA games with the Bulls and Sixers.

The 28-year-old Ruffin averaged 1.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in a career-high 79 games last season, his fifth in the NBA and first with the Wizards. Nothing to write home about, but he’s a nice role player for Washington.

The team also announced its decision to waive Cory Higgins, trimming the roster to 15 players in the process.

Ruffin had been playing in Spain and last played in the NBA in 2009 with Portland. The big man is from Colorado, so it’s a nice homecoming story, but he won’t hold any value in fantasy circles.

He missed a game with the flu.

He’s day-to-day.

He won’t have much fantasy value, but will be important to a Wizards front line without the services of Kwame Brown this year. The Wizards are likely to lose reserve guard Juan Dixon, who’s talking to Seattle and Indiana, among others right now.

Ruffin, a 30-year-old free agent, has spent the last three years with the Wizards and will play a back up role with the Bucks. We don’t see him offering much fantasy value this season.
