Curry, a defensive specialist, averaged 2.9 points per game for Toronto last season.

Curry will continue to oversee all of the D-League’s player development programs and will also assume basketball operations responsibilities for the NBA, reporting to Jackson.

The 36-year-old Curry was looking for the right situation to get back into the league and he believes he’s found it Indiana. He’ll be a defensive stopped off the bench.

While were leaning toward saying he has no value, the Pacers are too weird right now for us to do that. Anyone in a Pacers uniform deserves to be looked at. It will likely take him a few games to learn the offense.

He’s the head coach of the Sixers in Orlando Summer League and has been a candidate to win the job since last month. Curry was the head coach of the Pistons back in 2008-09, but the team didn’t perform with only a 39-43 record. Grizzlies assistant Lloyd Pierce also will receive consideration for the position. The Sixers don’t appear to be in a rush to find their next coach.

He got another start tonight, but continues to be bothersome to fantasy owners. He’s one of those guys that can help their team win without putting up any numbers in the box score, and it’s no coincidence that the Pacers have won three in a row. Curry is killing Austin Croshere’s minutes as well, as his minutes continue to increase while Croshere is trying to get 20 per game right now.

They had to waive Curry to sign Dale Davis.

Curry, formerly the NBA vice-president of basketball operations, takes over from Ron Harper, whose contract was not renewed by the Pistons.

Curry is scheduled for surgery next week and is out indefinitely. Morris Peterson and Lamond Murray will replace him.

Curry got some extra playing time because of Vince Carter’s injury. He scored two points.
