According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Matt Ryan has re-signed with the Pelicans on a one-year deal.
Three days after the Pelicans waived him, Ryan will return to the team on a restructured one-year deal. The 3-point marksman appeared in 28 games (one start) last season, averaging 5.4 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.5 3-pointers in 13.9 minutes. Given New Orleans’s options at small forward, Ryan faces long odds to crack Willie Green’s rotation this fall.

According to a report from The Athletic’s Shams Charania, New Orleans has decided to waive Matt Ryan.
Ryan averaged 5.4 points per game with the Pelicans last season and shot 45.1 percent from deep. His release comes following the announcement of Javonte Green’s one-year deal with New Orleans.

Matt Ryan (illness) has been cleared to play in Thursday’s game against the Magic.
Ryan has been upgraded from questionable to available, but this will not impact fantasy basketball. He has not been guaranteed rotation minutes when healthy.

Matt Ryan (illness) is questionable to play on Thursday against Orlando.
Ryan hasn’t been a consistent part of the team’s rotation since November, so his status for this game won’t really impact fantasy.

Matt Ryan logged 19 minutes off the bench in Sunday’s loss to Chicago, tallying 14 points, four rebounds and four three-pointers.
The points are tied for third most of Ryan’s career as he’s got games of 20, 17 and another 14-pointer under his belt this season. The Chattanooga product has appeared in only 15 games this season, but he’s averaging a career-high 20.3 minutes in those games and stroking three-pointers at a ridiculous 47.1% clip. Given the depth on New Orleans’ roster, it’s unlikely Ryan gets enough of an opportunity to be viable in 12-team leagues this season, but he’s a useful streamer for points and triples when given extra minutes.

Matt Ryan (right elbow surgery) is not on the injury report for Monday’s game against the Celtics.
Ryan has been out since mid-December after undergoing surgery on his elbow. While he gives the Pelicans another shooter off the bench, rotation minutes will be tough to come by as the team is as healthy as it has been all season long.

Matt Ryan (right elbow surgery) recently played one-on-one as he continues to work his way back to full strength.
Ryan has been out since mid-December when it was announced that he would miss 6-8 weeks after undergoing elbow surgery. His ability to do one-on-one work means that Ryan’s closing in on a return, but he remains without a concrete timeline. Ryan’s continued absence will not impact fantasy basketball, as Trey Murphy III and Naji Marshall are healthy.

Matt Ryan underwent surgery on his right elbow on Tuesday and has a return-to-play timeline of 6-8 weeks.
Initially listed on the injury report with a sore right elbow, Ryan underwent surgery in New York to remove loose bodies from the elbow. With Trey Murphy III and Naji Marshall having returned from injury issues in recent weeks, there wasn’t much room in the rotation for Ryan if he were healthy.

Matt Ryan (right elbow soreness) will remain sidelined for Monday’s game against Minnesota.
This will be an 11th straight absence for Ryan, who was seeing consistent minutes before he injured his calf. He is now dealing with soreness in his elbow that has kept him on the sidelines. However, now that the team is healthier, Ryan won’t be part of their rotation when he is healthy, so his continued absence won’t impact fantasy basketball.

Matt Ryan (right elbow soreness) will remain sidelined for Thursday’s game against the Lakers.
It is past Ryan’s initial timeline of a 10-14 day absence, but he’ll still remain sidelined. With the team fully healthy, Ryan won’t be part of the team’s rotation when he is available to play, so this won’t have much of an impact on their rotation.
