The Hornets have waived Marques Bolden, per a team announcement.
Bolden suited up in nine games for the Hornets last season, as well as two for Milwaukee. Bolden will have a chance to sign elsewhere, but he hasn’t proven himself to be a player worth keeping tabs on in any fantasy format.

Grant Williams (right ankle sprain), Nick Richards (right plantar fascia discomfort) and Davis Bertans (left Achilles soreness) have been ruled out for Sunday’s matchup with Cleveland.
Richards and Williams sat out their last game, and Bertans will join them on the sidelines for this one. With Brandon Miller and Miles Bridges also out, there will be plenty of minutes at forward to go around. Aleksej Pokusevski and JT Thor should fill a lot of those, with Marques Bolden once again seeing most of the minutes at center.

Nick Richards (right plantar fascia discomfort) is questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Magic.
Richards was held out of Sunday’s loss to the Raptors, with Charlotte going small and moving Grant Williams into the starting lineup. Nick would replace Williams in the starting lineup if cleared to return. Marques Bolden played only eight minutes off the bench, so he isn’t worth streaming if Richards remains sidelined.

Nick Richards (right plantar fascia discomfort) has been added to the injury report as questionable ahead of Sunday’s matchup with Toronto.
Richards didn’t make the initial injury report, but he is now questionable with a foot issue after going through morning shootaround. If he ends up missing this game, Marques Bolden, who they recently signed to a two-way contract, will likely have to play big minutes as the main center option. Grant Williams should also see extra minutes as a smaller center.

The Hornets have signed Marques Bolden to a two-way contract and wavied Nate Mensah.
Bolden signed a 10-day with Charlotte on February 20th, and he impressed them enough for them to keep him around. He will likely spend most of his time in the G-League, so this won’t impact fantasy hoops.
  • CHA Center #12
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Hornets are signing Marques Bolden to a 10-day contract.
Charlotte’s depth at center is a bit thin behind Nick “Naughty Nicky” Richards, with Nathan Mensah the only true center available. Grant Williams and Miles Bridges can fill in as small ball centers, but the 6'10, 249-pound Bolden offers some needed size. Bolden is a Duke alum, so even if Mark Williams remains sidelined, Charlotte can still boast a Blue Devil in the frontcourt.

Marques Bolden recorded a line of 21 points (9-of-11 FGs), six rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block, and three 3-pointers in 33 minutes during Tuesday’s loss to the Bulls.
Bolden is on an Exhibit 10 contract, so it’s highly unlikely he’ll be in the Bucks’ rotation come opening night. But watching the former 5-star recruit have one of the best games of his professional career was fun.

  • MIL Small Forward #3
Jevon Carter, MarJon Beauchamp, Jordan Nwora, Sandro Mamukelashvili, and Marques Bolden will start Tuesday’s exhibition game against the Bulls.
The Bucks are giving many of their primary weapons the night off in the team’s preseason finale, hence the “strange” starting lineup. Carter is best positioned of the quintet to receive consistent rotation minutes once the regular season begins. Beauchamp, Milwaukee’s first-round pick, and Nwora are competing for playing time on the wing, a key competition due to the absence of Khris Middleton (wrist). Mamukelashvili, who’s on a two-way contract, and Bolden (Exhibit 10) face longer odds for rotation minutes, with the latter fighting for a guaranteed contract.

Marques Bolden will join the Bucks for training camp.
The Bucks have 19 players under contract, so they are likely just looking to secure Bolden’s G League rights. He’s a long shot to make the 15-man roster.

  • FA Center #3
The Jazz have waived Marques Bolden, MaCio Teague and Derrick Alston Jr.
All three faced very long odds to make the Jazz roster for opening night, so these transaction are not a surprise. It’s likely that, provided they clear waivers, Teague (a college teammate of Jazz second-round pick Jared Butler) and Alston land with Utah’s G League affiliate.
