Undrafted free agent Maalik Wayns has agreed to sign with the 76ers.
Wayns, a product of Villanova, will reportedly sign a deal similar to the one Lavoy Allen received last season. The signing makes sense given Xavier (face/head) was injured during summer league. Wayns averaged 11.7 points, 5.7 assists and 1.7 steals during Orlando summer league.

    Sixers sign G Maalik Wayns.
Wayns was undrafted out of Villanova, but he’ll ink a one-year deal with the Sixers and hope to make the roster out of training camp. He offers no fantasy appeal, and will simply be trying to beat out Xavier Silas for the third-string point guard job.

Maalik Wayns is expected to make the Sixers final roster, according to beat writer Dei Lynam.
Wayns, an undrafted free agent, signed a one-year deal with the Sixers at the end of July. He offers nothing to fantasy owners.

Undrafted rookie PG Maalik Wayns suffered a head contusion in Monday’s game and did not return.
Wayns has won the backup PG job, but would only have fantasy value if Jrue Holiday got hurt, obviously.

Maalik Wayns admitted that he had a headache after being diagnosed with a “head contusion” on Monday.
Wayns will undergo further testing and a concussion has not been ruled out. We’ll give you an update on his status when one becomes available.

Kwame Brown (calf) and Maalik Wayns (head) both missed practice again Friday.
Each player is still being called day-to-day, but both will have to show us something before the regular season starts to be sure that they’ll be able to play.

Doug Collins said Maalik Wayns wasn’t “himself” for two weeks following a head injury.
Wayns had a season-high 10 points and added two 3-pointers in 13 minutes Tuesday and appears to have a solid hold on the Sixers’ backup PG job. Collins also said he trusts Wayns to take his shots and if you’re in a deep league, he could be worth watching.

Maalik Wayns had a season-high 10 points and two 3-pointers in 13 minutes of Tuesday’s win.
He scored seven points in his previous game and might be ready to become a part of the regular rotation in Philly. If you’re in a 20-team league, it’s possible Wayns could become relevant, so just keep an eye on him.

Maalik Wayns has “solidified” his role as the Sixers backup PG, according to CSN Philadelphia.
The undrafted product has turned heads in camp, and now not only is he expected to make the team, but he’s also looking to run with the backup point guard gig. Doug Collins said that Wayns “really gives us a burst of speed,” and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him serve behind Jrue Holiday this season.

Maalik Wayns (head), Kwame Brown (calf) and Evan Turner (ankle) all did not practice on Wednesday.
Each player is still listed as day-to-day, but the trio missed another day of practice on Wednesday. Wayns and Turner are tentatively expected to be ready for the season opener, but Brown’s status is currently up in the air.
