  • MIN Power Forward #55
Luka Garza has agreed to return to Minnesota on a two-year deal, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Garza has spent the last two seasons in Minnesota, and he will be back for at least two more, barring a trade in the future. He averaged 4.9 minutes across 25 appearances last year, and he shouldn’t see a dramatic increase in minutes this upcoming season.

Naz Reid has been ejected from Tuesday’s game against the Wizards after being called for a Flagrant 2 foul.
Reid got mixed up with Johnny Davis and appeared to contact his head with an elbow while Davis was trying to box him out. Don’t expect him to receive any further punishment from the league office, but Kyle Anderson and Luka Garza should see some extra minutes in this game.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that Luka Garza’s two-way deal has been converted to a standard contract.
That places Garza on the Wolves’ playoff roster, where he’ll provide scoring and rebounding off the bench. The move shores up Minnesota’s frontcourt depth with Karl-Anthony Towns still on the shelf. Garza finished with 16 points in just nine minutes in Thursday’s 133-85 win over the Raptors, but despite his microwave scoring ability, Garza hasn’t seen enough playing time to be worth a look in fantasy leagues of any size.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #5
Anthony Edwards (left middle finger dislocation/sprain) and Naz Reid (head injury) are available to play in Friday’s game against Cleveland.
Rudy Gobert will be a gametime decision, but Minnesota will at least have Edwards and Reid for this game. Reid is back after a one-game absence, which means that Luka Garza will be pushed out of the rotation. Reid will start if Gobert remains sidelined, but he should still see big minutes either way. Nickeil Alexander-Walker will likely return to playing a role off the bench.
  • MIN Center #11
Naz Reid (head injury) has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Nuggets.
Reid will not play after suffering a head injury during the first half of Monday’s win over the Jazz. How impactful his absence will be depends on the availability of Rudy Gobert (rib), who is a game-time call. If Gobert cannot play, Luka Garza would be in line for a heavy workload at the center position.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #5
Anthony Edwards (left middle finger dislocation/sprain), Rudy Gobert (left rib sprain) and Naz Reid (head) are all questionable for Tuesday’s matchup with the Nuggets.
Edwards appeared to favor his hand after his incredible poster dunk on John Collins, and he’s in danger of sitting out the second half of Minnesota’s Monday-Tuesday back-to-back set. Gobert has missed two straight and three of his last four, while Reid is in danger of missing his first game of the season after an early exit in Monday’s win. Kyle Anderson and Luka Garza are in line for more minutes if Gobert or Reid sit, while Nickeil Alexander-Walker could see a significant bump if Edwards is sidelined.
  • MIN Center #11
Naz Reid (head injury) exited early from Monday’s game against the Jazz.
Reid took a shot to the back of the head in the first half and did not return. Nickeil Alexander-Walker started the second half in his place, though that was a smaller lineup. If both Reid and Rudy Gobert remain out on Tuesday, Luka Garza may see extended minutes trying to guard Nikola Jokic.

Luka Garza (low back spasms) is available for Friday’s game against the Rockets.
When he’s healthy, Garza isn’t in the rotation most nights, so his availability will not impact fantasy basketball.

Luka Garza (low back spasms) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Rockets.
Garza sat out Wednesday’s loss to the Pelicans, but it did not impact fantasy basketball. He isn’t in the rotation when healthy.

Luka Garza (low back spasms) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Pelicans.
Garza is not in the rotation when healthy, so his absence will not impact the Timberwolves or fantasy basketball.
