One of the agents for Luis Scola accused the Spurs on Thursday of making the Argentine forward a “prisoner” because they don’t intend to sign him this summer and have yet to trade his rights.
The Spurs drafted Scola in the second round in 2002. He has hoped to come to the NBA each of the past two seasons but has been unable to work out an agreement with the Spurs, in part because of the large buyout he has with his Spanish team, Tau Ceramica. The Spurs also don’t want to lock into another power forward, especially after signing Fabricio Oberto and Matt Bonner. The Spurs are said to be trying to move Scola, but nothing has transpired as of yet.

Patrick Patterson had ankle surgery in August, but he is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season.
Patterson’s surgery was to treat bone spurs in his right ankle, but he’s already rehabbing and training in Indianapolis. His agent, Odell McCants, said that Patterson had been playing through the injury for the last couple of years, but the timing is curious and one has to wonder why he didn’t have the surgery earlier in the offseason if it was an ongoing problem. In six games as a starter last year, patterson averaged 10 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks over 30 minutes per night.

Luis Scola had 18 points and 10 rebounds on 9-of-18 shooting in Wednesday’s ugly loss to the Jazz.
Scola has double-doubled in three straight games and while he hasn’t blocked a shot in any of them, he’s at least in the good graces of Kevin McHale.

Luis Scola scored 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the Rockets’ win on Friday.
Scola is making owners forget about the rough early days and should be in all lineups going forward.

Luis Scola took an elbow to the face in the first quarter of Friday’s game and returned shortly after.
Scola was elbowed by Arron Afflalo and went immediately to the locker room to get four stitches. He should be fine in the long run.

Luis Scola drained 15-of-25 FGs for a game-high 30 points on Sunday, adding eight rebounds in a tough loss to the Cavaliers.
The Rockets have made no secret of their willingness to trade Scola, and they nearly did so with the Chris Paul trade that was scuttled by the Hornets/league office. No matter where he finishes the season, he should continue to provide steady if underwhelming fantasy value.

Goran Dragic scored 22 points on 5-of-9 shooting (1-of-4 from deep, 11-of-11 from the foul line) with two rebounds, seven assists, and two steals over 36 minutes in the Rockets’ 112-105 loss to the Suns on Friday.
Dragic continues to chug along with Kyle Lowry (26 minutes, 11 points, seven assists) back in the fold, and remains a must-start player until further notice. Luis Scola added 21 points and six assists in the loss.

Luis Scola was terrific vs. the Jazz on Sunday, scoring 26 points (12-of-20 shooting) with nine rebounds, three assists and one steal in 39 minutes.
It’s a nice bounce-back effort after playing just 22 foul-plagued minutes vs. the Wolves on Friday. Scola has been a disappointment this season, barely earning his spot on most fantasy rosters, so hopefully he’ll start playing with greater consistency after the All-Star break.

Luis Scola, who was injured in his last game and took stitches to his face, hit 6-of-11 shots for 16 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and zero blocks in Sunday’s OT loss to the Clippers.
Scola and Blake Griffin (5-of-14, 14 & 11) had a nice head-to-head battle, and while Scola’s numbers were better, Griffin’s Clippers got the win. Scola has blocked just three shots in his last 14 games, but has double-doubled in four of his last five.

Luis Scola scored 18 points on 9-of-17 shooting with 12 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and three blocks in the Rockets’ win over the Bulls on Monday.
Life is all about timing, and after an awful year Scola has now flirted with early round value over the past two weeks.
