Kwame Brown, who suffered a broken foot that required surgery on Aug. 1, likely will miss training camp.
It’s disappointing that Brown isn’t closer to being ready to play two months after getting hurt. If Brown doesn’t get to do much in the preseason, Etan Thomas will open the season as the Wizards’ starting center.

Kwame Brown said a broken toe likely will force him to sit out the first two weeks of the regular season.
Doctors actually said that Brown is only sure to miss the entire exhibition season plus the first game (Nov. 3), so president of basketball operations Ernie Grunfeld thinks Brown’s personal estimates are a tad pessimistic. In any case, it’s a big setback in Brown’s development.

Kwame Brown said yesterday that his surgically repaired right foot “more than likely” will keep him out until December.

Sources said Kwame Brown’s one-game team-imposed suspension is the result of an exchange between Brown and coach Eddie Jordan during a timeout with 5 minutes 55 seconds left in the second quarter of Wednesday’s loss.
Witnesses said Brown walked away from Jordan while Jordan was trying to speak to him about a blown defensive assignment, and later refused to join the huddle. Brown is averaging 6.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in 11.5 minutes since coming off the IL.

Kwame Brown, who has played in just 14 games this season, sprained his right ankle in practice Friday and will be out for at least seven to 10 days.
This season looks to be a wash for Kwame, as his feet and legs have given him problems since he had off-season foot surgery. If you’ve been holding him, we’d recommend letting him go for a healthy body.

Kwame Brown underwent an MRI exam on his injured right ankle yesterday.
The results were expected back today. Stay tuned.

The Wizards are trying to find more minutes for Kwame Brown, but coach Eddie Jordan doesn’t want to cut into Michael Ruffin’s playing time.
Jordan believes Brown won’t be at full strength until January, so he has some time to work with his rotation. Ruffin owns the NBA season-high mark of 11 offensive rebounds in Monday’s game.
