Kirk Hinrich missed his only shot and had two assists in only five first-half minutes before bruising his right knee.
He didn’t return and is listed as day-to-day.
  • ATL Point Guard #12
Kirk Hinrich missed his fifth straight day of camp with the flu and is doubtful for Thursday.
With Hinrich playing catch-up, Jamal Crawford should see heavy minutes early in the season.
  • ATL Point Guard #12
Kirk Hinrich played alongside Jamal Crawford for the entire fourth quarter last night, and the pair combined for 16 assists and just three turnovers.
This looks like it will be coach Scott Skiles’ choice, which really helps the value of both players. There is some concern about Crawford’s struggles to guard opposing shooting guards, so Skiles may have Hinrich guard them on the defensive end.
  • ATL Point Guard #12
Kirk Hinrich left the game Monday after having the wind knocked out of him and suffering a slight knee sprain.
After the game, Hinrich said it was nothing serious and he expects to play tonight.

The Bulls reportedly have acquired the No. 7 pick in the draft from Phoenix for the No. 31 pick, a future first-rounder and cash.
Even if the Suns didn’t want the No. 7 pick, they should have been able to do better than this. Not having the No. 7 pick might take them out of the running for Tracy McGrady. The Bulls appear likely to select Oregon’s Luke Jackson with their second first-round pick.

Kirk Hinrich started at shooting guard for injured Joe Johnson in the Hawks’ 83-78 win over the Magic, scoring six points on 3-of-9 shooting (no threes) with four rebounds, four assists, one steal, and two blocks in 25 minutes.
The line isn’t bad, but the reality for Hinrich is that he’s still doing more to hurt others’ value than he’s doing for himself. Zaza Pachulia added four points with 13 boards, four assists, and two steals, and Josh Smith had 22 points on 8-of-22 shooting with 12 boards and a full stat line, and Jeff Teague continued to struggle with his assists -- netting just two of them, while also chipping in with 13 points to go with two rebounds.
  • NOP Head Coach #34
Willie Green (back) is questionable to play against the Bucks on Friday.
Green was treated for back spasms leaving his status up in the air. If Green can’t go, both Kirk Hinrich and Tracy McGrady should see an uptick in minutes off the bench.
  • ATL Point Guard #12
Kirk Hinrich will be staying with the Hawks, according to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Hawks stood pat at the deadline, a strange move considering Hinrich’s expiring contract and their holes up front. Regardless, it’s worth noting that Hinrich has started three straight games ahead of Marvin Williams and logged at least 34 minutes in all of them. Hinrich is averaging 8.5 points, 2.9 assists and 1.1 3-pointers in his eight starts this year.
  • NOP Head Coach #34
Willie Green’s (back) return date remains uncertain.
Green has not played since February 29 due to his bad back and it’s clear that the Hawks won’t rush him back until he’s ready. Kirk Hinrich and Jannero Pargo will continue to see minutes at shooting guard with Green sidelined.
  • FA Small Forward #55
Joe Johnson turned the ball over seven times and Josh Smith hit just 5-of-20 shots as the Hawks lost to the Celtics by the score of 79-76 on Monday.
Yikes, this game was ugly. Johnson still scored 25 points with six boards and four 3-pointers, and Smoove nearly triple-doubled with 10 points, 11 boards, eight assists, and two steals. Jeff Teague (eight points, five boards, three assists) smiled after his airball three with the game on the line, and then forgot to cover his man on the immediate, subsequent inbound play by the Celtics as time expired. Kirk Hinrich scored nine points with two rebounds, three assists, a block, and three ugly turnovers.
