Keith Langlois of Pistons.com believes that Kim English is the “most needed” rookie on the roster.
English looked good in Summer League with averages of 30.0 minutes, 11.4 points and 2.0 threes in his five games. The 44th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft still has a long way to go to accumulate anything that resembles fantasy value.

The Pistons took Missouri F Kim English with the 44th pick of the draft.
He scored 14 points per game last season and projects as a shooting guard in the NBA. He can also knock down threes, and given the Pistons lack of depth at shooting guard, he could make an impact off the bench as a rookie despite being a second-round pick, unless the Pistons make some offseason moves.
  • CHI Shooting Guard #24
Kim English has been working with the Pistons coaching staff on his conditioning.
English wrote that “my body is changing” after working with Arnie Kander and the coaching staff, and he’s up eight pounds (from 192 to 200) since being drafted. English also revealed that he’s “doing things that are a lot different” than previously, but it’s a part of the acclimation process. English still has a long road ahead if he is going to become relevant for fantasy owners this season.

Pistons sign rookie SG Kim English to rookie contract.
English was taken in Round 2 of the draft but early reports are that he looks good. He’ll have a reserve role with Detroit and shouldn’t be considered in fantasy leagues next season.

Kim English has added 10 lbs since he was drafted.
English is working on his strength in order to survive the pace of play in the NBA as well as the 82-game schedule, but he’s going to need an injury or two to be relevant for fantasy owners during his first season.
  • CHI Shooting Guard #24
Kim English is inactive for the Pistons on Sunday.
Vyacheslav Kravtsov is also inactive for Detroit as they take on the Celtics. English was averaging 13 minutes per game in the first six games, but has seen a grand total of one minute in his last four.

Pistons rookie Kim English admitted he’s still adjusting to the pace of the NBA.
“The 24-second pace is 11 seconds shorter than college, so it’s an adjustment that has to be made,” said English. He’s a great shooter who made 45.9 percent of his 3-pointers with Missouri last season, and he’s a solid defender with great size for a SG at 6'6", 200 lbs. It will probably take an injury to Rodney Stuckey for English to be worth owning in fantasy this year.

Maurice Cheeks is already working at changing the culture inside the Pistons’ locker room.
Cheeks ran into Jonas Jerebko and Kim English at the team’s practice facility after his introductory news conference. Cheeks scolded Jerebko for shooting around in sandals, telling him, “When you’re in (the gym), you’ve got to put in work.” According to English, Cheeks has also passed a rule that anyone in the team facility must be wearing Pistons gear. “There should be a sense of pride putting on those Detroit letters every time you take the court. That was the extent of (the conversation), every time you’re on the court, come to work and be in Detroit stuff,” English said of what Cheeks told him. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but little things like that can go a long away to changing the atmosphere and mindset around a team.

Kim English needs to add more strength during the offseason.
English will also work on his ballhandling and perimeter shot as the Pistons really begin to turn the screws on their younger players to step up and become contributors. English could play a consistent role in the rotation next season if he improves enough considering the futures of Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum are uncertain.

Pistons assign G Kim English to the D-League.
He’ll get consistent playing time he wasn’t getting with the Pistons.
