Warriors signed Kevin Knox II to a one-year contract.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Knox will join Golden State for the rest of the season. The 25-year-old, who was previously on a 10-day contract, has appeared in seven games with the Warriors and is averaging four points per-game. His minuscule role for the Warriors doesn’t significantly impact fantasy basketball.

Gary Payton II (nose) has been upgraded to available to play against the Nets on Thursday.
GP2 missed Tuesday’s win in New York, but after initially being listed as probable to play against Brooklyn, he has officially been cleared. He’ll occupy his typical reserve role, which will likely cut into Kevin Knox II’s minutes.
  • GSW Power Forward #00
Jonathan Kuminga (ankle) was able to scrimmage on Wednesday, but as far as a return to the court, head coach Steve Kerr said “nothing is imminent.”
This isn’t exactly an optimistic update on Kuminga after he has already missed over two months. Gui Santos and Kevin Knox have filled out backup minutes at the forward spots, but neither has played a significant role. Still, they’ll continue to be the options that Kerr has to work with until Kuminga returns.

Warriors signed Kevin Knox II to a 10-day contract.
Knox receives his second 10-day contract from the surging Warriors, who have won four straight games coming out of the All-Star break. The 25-year-old has appeared in four contests for Golden State, averaging just seven minutes per-game off the bench.
  • GSW Small Forward #31
The Athletic’s Anthony Slater reports the Warriors signed Kevin Knox II to a second 10-day contract.
While he hasn’t done much statistically since signing with the Warriors, Knox has proven to be a good fit in his limited role. As a result, he’ll get another 10-day contract, and the former lottery pick may stick with the Warriors for the rest of the season after this deal expires.

Warriors signed Kevin Knox II to a 10-day contract.
Knox, the ninth overall pick in the 2018 draft, has not been able to establish himself at the NBA level. However, he’s played well enough with the Warriors G League affiliate this season to earn another opportunity in the Association. Averaging 19.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in the G League, Knox was in training camp with the Warriors before being waived.
  • GSW Small Forward #24
Kevin Knox II has agreed to a one-year deal with the Warriors, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Knox spent this summer with Golden State, and now he’ll compete for a roster spot during training camp. The former lottery pick hasn’t ever made a consistent impact in fantasy basketball, and if he makes the final roster, that won’t change.
  • FA Small Forward #24
Kevin Knox II finished Sunday’s 102-99 loss to Miami with 31 points (12-of-17 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 11 rebounds, one assist, two blocks, and five 3-pointers in 30 minutes.
Knox was sensational before fouling out of Sunday’s semifinal defeat, leading all scorers with 31 points. This was a needed performance for the 2018 lottery pick, as he entered Sunday averaging 13.0 points per game on 33.3% shooting from the field. Efficiency had been an issue for Knox, who’s looking to catch on somewhere after being waived by the Jazz after they acquired him from Detroit in February. Whether or not he can earn an opportunity in some team’s training camp, there’s no need to consider selecting Knox in fantasy drafts.

The Jazz waived Kevin Knox II on Friday.
Utah acquired Knox from Detroit in the deal that sent Simone Fontecchio to the Pistons. Knox will be free to sign with a new team, but he won’t find a situation that allows him to contribute in fantasy.
  • UTA Small Forward #16
Simone Fontecchio has been traded to the Detroit Pistons for a second-round pick, Kevin Knox and the draft rights to Gabriele Procida, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The second-year man has started each of Utah’s last 20 games, averaging 9.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 triples across 26.6 minutes. Without Fontecchio, Ochai Agbaji, Talen Horton-Tucker and Taylor Hendricks (who was recently recalled from the G League) could see increased minutes moving forward. Fontecchio is a promising young player who could see plenty of playing time for the 6-43 Pistons to close out the season. Both teams could make additional moves ahead of the trade deadline, so we’ll have to wait until the dust settles before making final judgment calls about fantasy impact. In the immediate aftermath of this deal, Alec Burks looks like the biggest loser.
