The Cavaliers have reportedly agreed to sign West Virginia PF Kevin Jones to a partially-guaranteed 3-year contract.
Jones went undrafted, and the Cavs (who traded two of their four picks this year) were quick to scoop him up. He’s undersized at 6'7", 251 lbs, but was extremely productive as a senior for WV, averaging 19.9 points on 50.9 percent shooting, 10.9 rebounds and 1.0 blocks. The Cavs’ frontcourt is still sparse and it’s conceivable that he’ll carve out a backup role, but for now he may be developed in the D-League.

Kevin Jones, who recently signed a partially-guaranteed three-year contract with the Cavaliers, will miss three weeks with a bone bruise in his heel.
Jones was already expected to marinate in the D-League for a while, and now he’ll miss Summer League which doesn’t help his odds of making the Cavs’ regular season roster.

The Cavaliers are expected to sign Kevin Jones (ankle) before training camp opens in September.
The Cavs agreed weeks ago to sign Jones to a partially-guaranteed three-year deal, but the undrafted rookie suffered a bone bruise in his ankle on July 9 and hasn’t been able to play since. He was a double-double machine for West Virginia, and surprised many people by going undrafted, so it’s not a bad addition to the Cavs’ depth chart.

Kevin Jones is “expected to sign a three-year deal” with the Cavs on Monday.
The deal will call for a team option in the third season. Jones was expected to be signed by training camp, and it sounds like the Cavs will do exactly that. He should be a solid depth addition but shouldn’t be a fantasy contributor.
  • NOP Power Forward #50
The Cavs waived Micheal Eric, Kevin Jones and D’Aundray Brown on Saturday.
The Cavs have their roster rest to go for the season. None of these three players have much of a chance to make an impact with the big clubs this year.
  • MIL Center #50
The Cavaliers waived undrafted rookies Michael Eric, Kevin Jones and D’Aundray Brown on Sunday.
The moves trimmed Cleveland’s roster to 15 players, but the Cavs still intend to bring all three guys to their D-League affiliate, where they can develop in the hopes of an eventual call-up.

Cavs assign F Kevin Jones to the D-League.
The Cavs signed him and immediately assigned him to the D-League, where he’ll be able to play consistent minutes in order to develop his game.
  • NOP Power Forward #50
    Cavaliers sign F Kevin Jones.
Cleveland will waive Luke Harangody with this move. Jones was one of the last cuts back in late October and he doesn’t figure to play much for Cleveland. He can be left on the waiver wire in all leagues.

Cavs recall F Kevin Jones from the D-League.
Jones will not be a fantasy option in any format.
