Kevin Garnett and his group of investors are preparing to submit a bid to Glen Taylor to purchase the Timberwolves franchise.
Amongst the global pandemic, some of the smaller market teams are considering selling, and Taylor has reportedly been open to hearing offers. For Garnett, the purchase would be personal given his stature with the franchise, and he has promised to keep the team in Minnesota if a deal were to go through. To be clear, nothing is imminent, but it would be pretty legendary for Garnett to put the bow on his Timberwolves legacy by retiring his own jersey as the owner of the team.

Kevin Garnett reportedly punched 2003 second-round pick Rick Rickert during a pickup game last week at Target Center.
Seven stitches were required to close the cut on Rickert’s chin, said his mother in an interview. The attack reportedly was unprovoked. Rickert scored several times with Garnett guarding him, causing several other players began to tease Garnett about being outplayed. When Rickert scored again, Garnett struck him without warning. Probably nothing will come of this except some damage to Garnett’s reputation.

Kevin Garnett’s DNP last night was simply a precaution, and coach Flip Saunders expects him to practice today.
He’s still the consensus No. 1 pick in your draft.

Kevin Garnett, to nobody’s surprise, finished November ranked as the No. 1 NBA player by the Tendex rating system.
Garnett led all NBA players at .882. No one else broke .800 and only four -- Tim Duncan (.783), Dirk Nowitzki (.763), Amare Stoudemire (.725) and LeBron James (.725) -- topped .700. The NBA’s Efficiency rating tells a similar story, ranking Garnett, James, Nowitzki, Duncan, and Dwayne Wade as the Top 5 for November. To the reader who asked if he should trade Garnett for Stephon Marbury and Austin Croshere, this is why the answer is a resounding no.

Not like there was much doubt to begin with, but Kevin Garnett will start tonight.
Garnett sustained some minor bruises against Sacramento Wednesday when he landed on Vlade Divac’s foot on the overtime jump ball. He escaped with nothing except a mildly-sore backside.

The Timberwolves have offered Kevin Garnett a contract extension, but they don’t know if he will accept it.
“He hasn’t been in town, so we don’t know if he’s going to sign it or not,” owner Glen Taylor said. “He knows our position.” Garnett would become a free agent next summer if the sides don’t reach an agreement.

The Timberwolves have not announced tonight’s starters other than Kevin Garnett, Sam Cassell, and Latrell Sprewell.
Michael Olowokandi is expected to start at center, with Wally Szczerbiak’s spot going to Fred Hoiberg or Mark Madsen. Coach Flip Saunders said he will make that decision following today’s shootaround.

Timberwolves’ VP of basketball operations Kevin McHale said he spoke with agent Andy Miller about a contract extension for Kevin Garnett.
Garnett has one year remaining on the $126 million contract he signed five years ago. The two sides talked extension last summer, but no deal was done. Garnett could be waiting to see how the Wolves improve their roster before he decides on his future.

The Toronto Sun is reporting that Kevin Garnett may be headed to the Pistons for Rasheed and Ben Wallace and a couple draft picks.
Don’t get too excited, as every team in the league’s message boards have kicked around trade rumors involving Garnett all summer. With Flip Saunders in Detroit, this one may have a few more teeth, but don’t expect the Wolves to get rid of Garnett. At least not this year.

The Timberwolves will be heading to Vegas tomorrow for a two-day minicamp and some ''bonding.’'
The team has some ''special’’ events planned while there, including dinner and bowling. What? Kevin McHale’s taking the team to ''Sin City’’ to go bowling and eat dinner together? Isn’t there an MCL and a bowling alley in the Twin Cities? We’re pretty sure this trip has trouble written all over, especially if Michael Olowokandi is going. We’re guessing that Kandiman and Kevin Garnett will introduce rookie Rashad McCants to world-famous Palomino club after escaping from the bowling alley after a couple frames. This whole trip just seems like a really bad idea, especially since Garnett is supposedly already pissed because the Wolves are sending Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell packing.
