  • MIN Small Forward #43
Justin Jackson signed a 10-day contract with Minnesota on Wednesday, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
After spending time with Boston to start last season, Jackson was traded at the deadline to the Thunder. He was waived shortly after and didn’t sign with another team. He will fill a roster spot for Minnesota, but it is unlikely that he sees the floor enough to impact fantasy hoops.
  • OKC Center #50
Mike Muscala has been traded to the Celtics in exchange for Justin Jackson and two second round picks, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Muscala’s recent shooting surge has been enough for Sam Presti to add to his wealth of picks. As of now, he’ll be behind Al Horford, Robert Williams and Grant Williams at least, with Luke Kornet and Blake Griffin also competing for minutes. Muscala will provide some deep-range shooting, but unless the Celtics move Grant Williams before the deadline, Muscala won’t have a path to consistent minutes. He belongs on the waiver wire, unless the Celtics are without some of their frontcourt pieces for a game here and there. Then he can be a solid streamer.

  • Small Forward #44
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Celtics have traded Justin Jackson and two second-round picks to the Thunder for Mike Muscala.
Jackson earned a roster spot with the Celtics out of training camp but did not factor into the team’s rotation once the season began. He played 4.7 minutes per game in 23 appearances for Boston, so it goes without saying that this transaction won’t impact fantasy basketball. And with the Thunder already having multiple young wings on their roster, that will also be the case in Oklahoma City.

  • Small Forward #44
Justin Jackson is expected to make the Celtics final roster.
He got hot last Friday, breaking out of a shooting slump and making his case for make the opening-night roster. Obviously, he’s not worth a look in fantasy at this time.

  • Small Forward #44
Justin Jackson scored 16 points in 23 minutes during Friday’s exhibition game against the Hornets, shooting 4-of-8 from beyond the arc.
Jackson did not shoot the ball well in either of Boston’s first two exhibition games, an ominous development for someone not guaranteed a spot on the Opening Night roster. But he got going Friday night, hitting three consecutive 3-pointers during the third quarter and finishing with 16 points. According to MassLive’s Brian T. Robb, Jackson, Brodric Thomas, and Jake Layman may be fighting it out for the final guaranteed roster spot. Friday’s performance may have strengthened Jackson’s case, especially for a team that can use another shooter on the bench. If he can make the final roster, Jackson won’t be a worthwhile target in any fantasy leagues.

  • Small Forward #44
According to CLNS Media’s Bobby Manning, Justin Jackson is expected to be signed to an Exhibit 10 contract by the Celtics.
The Celtics are reportedly closer to filling out their roster for training camp, with Jackson, Jake Layman, and Denzel Valentine all in the fold. Jackson, a first-round pick in 2017, failed to establish himself as an NBA player, but this could be the opportunity he needs to restart his career. The Celtics lost Danilo Gallinari to a torn ACL this summer, which he suffered while representing his native Italy. With only 12 players on guaranteed contracts, there’s room for Jackson, Layman, or Jackson to earn a roster spot.

  • Small Forward #44
Justin Jackson hit 9-of-14 shots and five 3-pointers for 24 points, three rebounds and one assist in Tuesday’s Summer League win over the Warriors.
He’s having a nice summer for the Celtics but is just trying to make the squad for a deep Celtics team. He has a real shot at making the team but it’s hard to imagine him having fantasy value this season.

  • BOS Center #28
Mfionodu Kabengele hit 6-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer for 20 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in Tuesday’s Summer League win over the Warriors.
Kabengele is having a fun Summer League but the Celtics are loaded and it’s going to be tough for him to make much of a dent again this season, especially in fantasy. Justin Jackson led the way with 24 points and Juhann Begarin added 21 points in the win over the Warriors. Brodric Thomas also had a nice game with 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and four 3-pointers in the win.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #11
The Suns announced on Thursday that they’ve waived Abdel Nader and released Justin Jackson.
With the additions of Aaron Holiday and Torrey Craig, the Suns needed to free up some space on the roster. Nader, who has missed most of this season due to a right knee injury, has been waived. Also headed out is Jackson, who was recently signed to a 10-day contract. Neither departure will have an impact as far as fantasy basketball is concerned.

  • Small Forward #44
Justin Jackson signed a 10-day hardship deal with the Suns late Thursday night, per Marc Stein.
Phoenix has four players in health and safety protocols, including Jae Crowder. Jackson will help provide depth for the Suns, but it’s unlikely he provides any real fantasy value. He already played for the Celtics on a 10-day deal this year, scoring two points in two minutes before entering protocols.
