The Spurs have waived Josh Huestis.
He’s only been with the team for a few days, but this was always the plan because now he will head to their G-League affiliate.

Josh Huestis will play in 2016 summer league.
While it will be good for the 24-year-old to get some extra experience, Huestis only appeared in five games during the 2015-16 regular season and can be ignored in all fantasy leagues.

Josh Huestis believes that he can crack the rotation for the Thunder this season.
After appearing in just five games for the Thunder last season, there’s suddenly a lot of playing time available in OKC with Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka out of the picture. “Of course. Obviously, losing Kevin opens up a lot of minutes,” Huestis said. “I’m just trying to be somebody who can step in and contribute, help the team win in whatever capacity that is.” Huestis will be competing with Andre Roberson, Kyle Singler, Anthony Morrow and Ersan Ilyasova, so there’s certainly a path to minutes in OKC for the 24-year-old combo forward. For now, he’s only worth monitoring in very deep leagues.

The Thunder have picked up their third-year options on Cameron Payne (foot) and Josh Huestis.
Payne is rehabbing from an acute fracture to the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, and he’s expected to re-evalauted in the next few weeks. He had a strong summer league and should be the clear backup PG to Russell Westbrook when he returns, so he’s a nice handcuff for any Westbrook owner.

The Thunder exercised the third-year options on Josh Huestis and Cameron Payne.
Even though Huestis barely plays, it doesn’t cost much to pick him up to see what he can do. In the preseason, he averaged 5.4 points per game. There was hope he’d get in the rotation, but it hasn’t happened yet.
  • OKC Point Guard #6
Semaj Christon (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Pacers.
Josh Huesties will join the active roster with Christon on the sidelines, but there are no guarantees Huesties will see the court tonight. Victor Oladipo will likely log some extra minutes with the second unit sans Christon, which would be a boon to his value.
  • SAS Small Forward #34
Josh Huestis has been assigned to the Thunder’s D-League affiliate.
The second-year forward has only made it onto the court one time this season, for a grand total of seven minutes.
  • SAS Small Forward #34
Josh Huestis has been recalled from the D-League.
    Sweet.
  • OKC Small Forward #15
Kyle Singler (illness) will not play in Game 5 vs. the Spurs on Tuesday.
Singler hasn’t played in three straight games anyways, so this won’t impact the rotation. Josh Huestis will join the active list.

Josh Huestis came out of nowhere to score 15 points with nine rebounds, one steal and four 3-pointers in 22 minutes vs. the Nuggets on Tuesday.
Huestis has been stashed in the G-League for the past couple years and has seven NBA games under his belt, but maybe he’s ready to contribute this season. We could see him passing Kyle Singler on the depth chart, but there aren’t many minutes available at the three and four with Paul George and Carmelo Anthony in town. Huestis is not on the fantasy radar.
