Jakob Poeltl (bilateral groin strain) will play against the Hawks on Sunday.
Poeltl will be back in the lineup after missing the team’s last four games, and he should make an immediate return to the starting unit. His return should push Kelly Olynyk back to the bench and take away some minutes from both Chris Boucher and Jonathan Mogbo.
  • TOR Center #41
Kelly Olynyk accumulated 14 points (6-of-9 FGs), five rebounds, five assists, and two 3-pointers in 23 minutes in Thursday’s loss to Memphis.
After Jonathan Mogbo was allowed to start three games for the injured Jakob Poeltl, the Raptors moved Olynyk into the lineup on Thursday. The matchup likely factored into the reasoning, with the Grizzlies starting Jaren Jackson Jr. and Zach Edey. Olynyk has played 23 minutes or more in two of his last three outings, and he’ll have value if that continues. As for Mogbo, he played 17 minutes and finished with two points, six rebounds, one assist, two steals, and three blocks. While not much of a fantasy option currently, Mogbo will be a name to know in advance of the “silly season.”
  • TOR Center #19
Jakob Poeltl (bilateral groin strain) is out for Thursday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Thursday’s game will be the fourth Poeltl misses due to his strained groin. Jonathan Mogbo should remain in the starting lineup, but Chris Boucher and Kelly Olynyk are better streaming options despite coming off the bench.
  • TOR Power Forward #25
Chris Boucher shot 5-of-6 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Monday’s loss to New York, accounting for 16 points, three rebounds, one assist, three steals, and four 3-pointers in 19 minutes.
Jakob Poeltl’s absence due to a strained groin frees up opportunities for the other bigs on Toronto’s roster, whether or not they start. Boucher had a good night off the bench and reached double figures in four of his last five outings. Rostered in 7% of Yahoo leagues, he has provided top 100 value in 9-cat formats over the past two weeks. Deep-league managers looking for an alternative with Poeltl sidelined would be better off with Boucher than Jonathan Mogbo (eight points, four rebounds, and two assists), even though the latter has been the starter.
  • TOR Center #19
Jakob Poeltl will be out for Monday’s matchup with the Knicks due to a bilateral groin strain.
Poeltl will miss a third straight game, which means more minutes for Jonathan Mogbo, Kelly Olynyk and Chris Boucher.
  • TOR Center #41
Kelly Olynyk played 25 minutes in Sunday’s loss to Houston, tallying eight points (3-of-8 FGs), nine rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block, and two 3-pointers.
Sunday’s game was the second straight Toronto played without starting center Jakob Poeltl. While Jonathan Mogbo (three points, three rebounds, one assist, and one block in 16 minutes) has been the choice to fill the void, Olynyk and Chris Boucher (15 points, one rebound, four assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 19 minutes) have been more valuable to fantasy managers. The short-term concern regarding Olynyk is availability, as the Raptors visit the Knicks on Monday. He’ll be worth adding if he plays and Poeltl remains sidelined.
  • TOR Center #19
Jakob Poeltl (groin) will remain sidelined for Sunday’s matchup with Houston.
This will be a second straight absence for Poeltl, and rookie Jonathan Mogbo started in his place in their last game. He was solid in 30 minutes, with Chris Boucher and Kelly Olynyk both logging just under 20 minutes. All three should see a boost with Poeltl out once again.
  • TOR Shooting Guard #14
The Raptors will start Scottie Barnes, Gradey Dick, Ja’Kobe Walter, Ochai Agbaji and Jonathan Mogbo against the Nets on Thursday.
With RJ Barrett sidelined, Walter will return to the starting unit in his place. Barnes is back after a two-game absence, but instead of Mogbo being pushed back to the bench, he will start at center in place of Jakob Poeltl.
  • TOR Small Forward #4
Scottie Barnes (right ankle sprain) will play against Brooklyn on Thursday.
Barnes will only end up missing two games despite seemingly suffering a serious ankle injury. They have avoided catastrophe, and Barnes should be back in the starting unit for this game, which will push rookie Jonathan Mogbo back to the bench.
  • TOR Power Forward #2
Jonathan Mogbo got the start on Thursday and finished with four points (2-of-5 FGs), 10 rebounds and four assists against the Heat.
With Scottie Barnes set to miss “several weeks”, Mogbo was able to slide into the starting unit and provide decent numbers. He logged 30 minutes and was able to record solid production in rebounds and assists, though he didn’t do much scoring. He hasn’t been much of a scorer this year, but he has been able to provide defensive stats in limited minutes, so those should come as he starts more games. Mogbo is available in 97% of Yahoo leagues and should be a worthy streamer until Barnes or Immanuel Quickley returns to the lineup.
