Ben Sheppard (oblique) is active for Thursday’s Pacers-Suns game but will play limited minutes.
Sheppard will return to action for the first time since mid-November. The Pacers wing will be limited but could cut into the minutes of rookie wing Johnny Furphy.
  • IND Point Guard #2
Andrew Nembhard (left knee injury management, right wrist sprain) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Hornets.
Not only has Nembhard been dealing with a knee issue, but he is also on the injury report with a sprained wrist. While Quenton Jackson was the starter for Wednesday’s win over the Nets, Johnny Furphy replaced him in the lineup to begin the third quarter. Both will be possible replacements if Nembhard cannot play, but neither would be a must-stream player.
  • IND Point Guard #2
Andrew Nembhard (left knee injury management) is expected to play against the Bulls on Friday.
Nembhard is on track to return after sitting out Wednesday’s loss to the Nets. This would push Quenton Jackson to the bench, with Johnny Furphy also seeing his minutes decrease. Neither Jackson nor Furphy needs to be rostered in most redraft leagues.
  • IND Point Guard #2
Andrew Nembhard (left knee injury management) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Bulls.
Nembhard did not play in Wednesday’s loss to the Nets, Indiana’s second game in as many nights. If he sits on Friday, who will replace him in the starting lineup may be undetermined. While Quenton Jackson has been the choice recently, he only played eight minutes in Brooklyn, with Johnny Furphy starting the third quarter. However, neither will be worth the streaming risk.
  • IND Small Forward #12
Johnny Furphy shot 4-of-9 from the field in Wednesday’s loss to the Nets, accounting for 12 points, seven rebounds, one block, and four 3-pointers in 25 minutes.
Furphy had the best game of his rookie season on Wednesday, hitting double figures for the first time as a pro. The four 3-pointers were also a season-high for Furphy, who replaced Quenton Jackson (zero points, two rebounds in eight minutes) in the lineup to begin the third quarter. However, Andrew Nembhard (knee) should be available for Friday’s game against the Bulls, so there isn’t a need to consider adding Furphy or Jackson.
  • IND Small Forward #12
Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said he expects Johnny Furphy (left ankle sprain) to play in Wednesday’s game against Portland.
Furphy injured his ankle during Sunday’s win over the Wizards and did not play the following night against New Orleans. The rookie will wear an ankle brace, and while he’ll get rotation minutes, there isn’t a need to roster Furphy in most leagues.
  • IND Small Forward #12
Johnny Furphy (left ankle sprain) is questionable for Wednesday’s game against Portland.
Furphy injured his ankle during Sunday’s win over the Wizards and did not play the following night against New Orleans. While he has been playing rotation minutes since the Pacers lost Aaron Nesmith and Andrew Nembhard, Furphy does not have to be rostered in most leagues.
  • IND Small Forward #12
Johnny Furphy (left ankle sprain) is out for Monday’s game against New Orleans.
Furphy injured his ankle during Sunday’s win over the Wizards and looked uncomfortable despite the Pacers training staff clearing him to return (Rick Carlisle did not sub him back in). The rookie wing’s absence will not impact fantasy basketball, as he has been on the back end of the Pacers’ rotation.
  • IND Small Forward #12
Johnny Furphy (sprained ankle) was available to return to Sunday’s win over the Wizards but did not.
Furphy played 11 minutes before the injury, finishing with five points, one rebound, and one 3-pointer. While the rookie was available to return, Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said after the game that Furphy’s body language “did not make it seem like the right call.” That likely factored into Bennedict Mathurin playing 39 minutes, the most of any Pacers player. Indiana hosts New Orleans on Monday, and it feels safe to assume that Furphy will get the night off.
  • IND Power Forward #5
Jarace Walker (illness) and Johnny Furphy (left hand injury) are available for Wednesday’s game against Houston.
Walker and Furphy were initially questionable for Wednesday’s game, with the status of the former being far more impactful. With Ben Sheppard (oblique) ruled out, Walker likely remains in the starting lineup for another game. However, he’s a risky deep-league streamer in this spot. As for Furphy, he isn’t guaranteed rotation minutes, so there’s no need to stream him.
