Jordan Poole (illness), Richaun Holmes (left toe contusion) and Tristan Vukcevic (right ankle sprain) have been ruled out for Sunday’s matchup with Boston.
Vukcevic will join Poole and Holmes on the sidelines after he suited up for their last game, which should allow Anthony Gill to return to the starting unit. Deni Avdija will take on the point guard duties once again after finishing with 24 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in their last game.
  • WAS Shooting Guard #1
Johnny Davis played 25 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Bulls, amassing 15 points (5-of-8 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, two assists, one steal, and four 3-pointers.
Davis has reached double figures in two straight games, with Friday’s point total being a season-high. While the overall line wasn’t imposing, the 3-point shooting (4-of-5) stands out. Davis has struggled with his shot for most of his two NBA seasons, so any progress made by the former lottery pick should not be overlooked. Only Corey Kispert hit more 3-pointers than Davis on Friday, as he made six and tallied 23 points (8-of-15 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, six assists, and one blocked shot in 40 minutes. Washington finishes its season with a game at Boston on Sunday.
  • WAS Shooting Guard #1
Deni Avdija, Johnny Davis, Corey Kispert, Patrick Baldwin Jr., and Tristan Vukcevic will start Friday’s game against the Bulls.
Jordan Poole (out) and Anthony Gill are the Wizards who drop from the starting lineup, with Davis and Vukcevic being their replacements. For those competing in DFS tournaments, Avdija and Kispert are worthy of consideration, as the Wizards will lean heavily upon them for production.
  • WAS Power Forward #33
Kyle Kuzma (right ankle sprain) is out for Friday’s game against the Bulls.
Kuzma remains sidelined for another game, with either Johnny Davis or Patrick Baldwin Jr. replacing him in the starting lineup. Neither player has lit things up for the Wizards when allowed to start, so they won’t be worth streaming on a 15-game night.
  • WAS Shooting Guard #1
Johnny Davis (left hip contusion) is available for Tuesday’s game against Minnesota, while Anthony Gill (right knee soreness) has been upgraded to probable.
Davis and Gill are well-positioned to play extended minutes on Tuesday, as the Wizards will be without multiple rotation players. The latter has a better chance of providing deep-league fantasy value, but neither should be considered must-stream players by managers in active leagues.
  • WAS Shooting Guard #1
Johnny Davis (hip contusion) is listed as questionable for Tuesday ahead of the Wizards’ game against the Timberwolves.
Davis hasn’t been much of a factor whether he’s active or not. Fantasy managers shouldn’t take his availability too seriously, as other role players are just playing heavy minutes for the Wizards right now.
  • WAS Shooting Guard #1
Johnny Davis (left hip contusion) exited Sunday’s game against the Raptors during the first half and did not return.
Davis fell hard during the first half of Sunday’s game and was eventually ruled out for the rest of the night. He only logged six minutes, finishing with one blocked shot. His absence does not impact fantasy basketball, even in leagues running through Week 24.
  • WAS Power Forward #33
Kyle Kuzma (right ankle sprain) has been downgraded to out for Sunday’s matchup with Toronto.
Kuzma will sit out for a second straight game and for the fourth time in their last five. Johnny Davis started in their last game, but if he remains in the starting unit, he still won’t be worth streaming. Anthony Gill is questionable, but he logged 31 minutes in their last game. If he doesn’t play, Eugene Omoruyi and Patrick Baldwin Jr. should see extra minutes off the bench.
  • WAS Power Forward #33
Kyle Kuzma (right ankle sprain) is questionable to play against Toronto on Sunday.
Kuzma sat out on Friday, which allowed Johnny Davis to join the starting unit. If Kuzma is back, Davis will be pushed to the bench, though he shouldn’t be streamed even if he starts again. Anthony Gill played 31 minutes off the bench on Friday, and he will lose out on minutes if Kuzma is back.
  • WAS Shooting Guard #1
Johnny Davis shot 3-of-3 from the field in Friday’s loss to Portland, scoring seven points with one rebound, three assists, and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes.
With Kyle Kuzma sidelined Davis was the choice to fill the void in the starting lineup. While he was efficient, the seven points and three assists weren’t enough to justify streaming him, not to mention the playing time. Washington stuck with a nine-man rotation (and 10th-man Patrick Baldwin Jr. played seven minutes), which did Davis no favors. He should see additional opportunities as the Wizards play out the string, but that isn’t enough to make him a player worth streaming for Sunday’s game against the Raptors.
