Tracy McGrady “might” work out for the Bobcats, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.
Bonnell cautions that it would be “all informal and exploratory,” comparing McGrady’s potential workout to Josh Howard’s recent go-around with the Bobcats. Charlotte may be looking for a veteran wing player to mentor the Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Jeff Taylor, but McGrady’s time as a factor in fantasy basketball has been over for a while.
  • CHA Small Forward #44
The Bobcats signed second-round pick SF Jeff Taylor on Friday.
If Taylor can clean up a multitude of issues ranging from confidence and the inability to create his own shot, he has a nice outside touch that could keep him in the league. Even on a thin Bobcats squad, we’re not projecting any fantasy value.
  • CHA Small Forward #44
The Bobcats selected Vanderbilt SF Jeff Taylor with the No. 31 pick of the 2012 NBA Draft.
Taylor boasts a 40 inch vertical leap and plenty of strength to defend at the NBA level. While he hit the 3-point shot at an impressive 42.3 percent clip last season, he fell this far in the draft because of his inability to create for himself, his inconsistency, lack of confidence, and his limited upside as a 23-year old senior. If he can clean a few of those issues up, he’ll have one of the league’s least impressive rosters to find minutes in.
  • CHA Small Forward #44
Jeff Taylor scored 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting (including two threes) with one rebound, two assists, and one steal in 33 minutes on Friday against the Sixers.
Taylor has looked great during his time on the court and he’ll be well worth owning until Gerald Henderson (foot) returns and that could be soon. Owners should just ride him until the wheels fall off, and maybe they’ll catch a lucky break along the way.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #12
Mike Dunlap hopes that Gerald Henderson (sprained foot) will return to action “sometime during the team’s four-game home stand.”
The Bobcats play in Charlotte on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday this week. Henderson is too risky to plug into weekly lineups at this point, but now would be a good time to snatch him off waivers.
  • CHA Small Forward #44
Jeff Taylor scored 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds and four steals in 26 minutes of Monday’s blowout loss.
Taylor has been worth owning in 12-team leagues over the past two weeks and he has been a mid-round value over the past four games. Amidst the disaster that was the Bobcats tonight, he emerged relatively unscathed. It’s worth noting that he’ll struggle to hold value whenever Gerald Henderson returns.
  • CHA Small Forward #44
Rookie Jeff Taylor started in his fourth straight game on Tuesday, finishing with six points, six rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block on 2-of-7 shooting.
He’s starting in place of injured Gerald Henderson and while he’s not blowing anyone’s mind with his production, he’s at least worth keeping an eye on, as Henderson’s not due back in the immediate future.
  • CHA Small Forward #44
Coming off a season-high 16 points on Friday, Jeff Taylor fouled out of Saturday’s victory with 12 points, two 3-pointers, three rebounds, two steals and three turnovers in 37 minutes.
“The coach is telling me to be aggressive on offense and I’m trying to learn and pick my spots and play off the other guys,’' Taylor said. He’s showing some promise this week, but his run as a starter isn’t likely to continue when Gerald Henderson (foot) is healthy enough to return.
  • WAS Point Guard #9
Mike Dunlap says Ramon Sessions and Ben Gordon will continue to come off the bench despite Gerald Henderson’s foot injury.
Dunlap expects to start either Matt Carroll or Jeff Taylor in Henderson’s absence, but that doesn’t mean Sessions won’t see more time. The former Laker scored 22 points in 28 minutes Saturday and could gain standard league value if his playing time continues toward the 30-minute-plus mark.
  • CHA Small Forward #44
Jeff Taylor will start Wednesday night against the Suns in place of Gerald Henderson (foot).
Taylor, Charlotte’s second-round this year, will start over Matt Carroll, Ramon Sessions and Ben Gordon. Henderson will miss two to four weeks, but fantasy owners should wait to see how the Bobcats deploy Taylor in the next few games before considering adding him.
