Jay Huff finished Sunday’s win over the Mavericks with 22 points (9-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), six rebounds, two assists, two steals, six blocks and two three-pointers in 28 minutes.
Huff did not start Sunday’s game, but that did not prevent him from putting on a show on both ends of the floor. He recorded career highs in points and blocks, finishing with a robust stat line sure to benefit any fantasy manager who rolled the dice on him. Due to Memphis’s overall depth, Huff has not been a consistent factor in fantasy basketball. However, he’s good enough to offer solid streaming value when the Grizzlies are shorthanded, as they were on Sunday.
  • MEM Power Forward #13
Jaren Jackson Jr. (back) and Zach Edey (ankle) are out against the Mavericks on Sunday.
The Grizzlies are resting most of their key players, including Jackson and Edey. Depending on Sunday’s results, Memphis will be either the seventh or eighth seed in the West. Jay Huff and GG Jackson will log significant minutes on Sunday due to the many absences, and both are worth slotting into lineups in active deep leagues.
  • MEM Center #14
Zach Edey (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Mavericks.
Edey appears unlikely to play in Sunday’s regular-season finale, as the Grizzlies are locked into the play-in tournament. Jay Huff will likely move into the rotation if the rookie is officially ruled out. As Jaren Jackson Jr. is also doubtful, Huff would be worth rostering in active leagues.
  • MEM Center #14
Zach Edey (ankle) and Brandon Clarke (knee) are available for Wednesday’s game against the Jazz.
Edey and Clarke are good to go after initially being questionable for Wednesday’s game. The former returning means Jay Huff will head to the bench, with Marvin Bagley III losing out on rotation minutes. There’s no need to hold onto Huff or Bagley now that Edey and Clarke are available.
  • MEM Center #14
Zach Edey (ankle) and Brandon Clarke (knee) are questionable to play against the Jazz on Wednesday.
With both Edey and Clarke sidelined on Monday, Jay Huff started at center, with Marvin Bagley filling out the backup minutes. Huff was more productive in the box score, though neither was a great option. Still, they’ll get another opportunity if Edey and Clarke miss another game.
  • MEM Center #30
Jay Huff had 14 points (5-of-11 FGs), three rebounds, two blocks and four 3-pointers against the Suns on Monday.
Huff got the spot start, his first since November, and played 25 minutes with the Grizzlies missing Zach Edey, Vince Williams, Santi Aldama and Jaren Jackson Jr. Monday against the Suns. The 27-year-old center wasn’t much on the boards, but he made four 3-pointers. Huff would have some value in deep leagues if a scenario that necessitates him starting were to arise again.
  • MEM Center #30
Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Jaylen Wells, GG Jackson and Jay Huff against the Suns on Monday.
With Zach Edey (ankle) and Vince Williams Jr. (foot) both sidelined, Jackson and Huff will enter the starting unit. This will be Jackson’s first time in the starting lineup this season, while it will be Huff’s first start since November.
  • MEM Power Forward #15
Brandon Clarke (mouth) and Vince Williams Jr. (knee) are out for Saturday’s game against the Spurs.
Clarke and Williams have been downgraded from questionable to out, leaving the Grizzlies without two of their many options off the bench. John Konchar, Jay Huff or Marvin Bagley III may enter the rotation, but none will likely get the minutes needed to provide reliable streaming value. However, that would change if Ja Morant or Desmond Bane were also ruled out.
  • MEM Power Forward #15
Brandon Clarke (back) has been downgraded to out against the Spurs on Monday.
Clarke will miss just his fourth game of the season due to some soreness in his back, which will open up some minutes at center. Zach Edey, Santi Aldama and Jay Huff will likely make up for his absence, though Huff isn’t a player to consider streaming.
  • MEM Center #30
Jay Huff (left knee soreness) is available for Wednesday’s game against San Antonio.
Huff has been upgraded from probable to available, giving Taylor Jenkins another option off the bench. However, he was available for Monday’s loss to the Rockets but did not play. Fantasy managers in most leagues don’t need to roster Huff.
