Javaris Crittenton, who is currently awaiting trial in the 2011 shooting death of an Atlanta woman, was reportedly arrested in connection with a traffic violation on Wednesday.
According to TMZ, Crittenton was pulled over for going 60 mph in a 45 mph zone, and then was arrested after initially failing to sign the ticket or step out of his car when asked. The former first-round pick last played in the NBA during the 2008-09 season.

Javaris Crittenton was released on Tuesday with a $230,000 bond and will be required to wear an ankle monitor while he awaits trial in the Aug. 19 shooting death of Julian Jones.
A Fulton County judge found probable cause to charge former the former Georgia Tech star in the drive-by shooting, and he will be charged with malice murder, aggravated assault and gun possession. Crittenton allegedly shot Jones accidentally while trying to hit a man he believed had stolen his jewelry in April.

According to TMZ.com, former NBA player Javaris Crittenton has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from his newborn son and his newborn son’s mother due to allegations of domestic violence.
It’s the latest in a long line of legal trouble for the former first-round pick, who is still awaiting trial in the 2011 shooting death of an Atlanta woman. Crittenton last played in the NBA during the 2008-09 season.

Jarvaris Crittenton and other suspects are accused of selling “multi-kilo quantities of cocaine and several hundred pounds of marijuana,” according to the Atlanta District Attorney.
He’s already facing murder charges from 2011 and is in a lot of trouble. Crittenton was famously involved with a gun incident along with Gilbert Arenas and obviously won’t be back in the league ever again.

Javaris Crittenton, Acie Law, Jamon Gordon and Brandan Wright worked out for the Hawks in a closed-door session on Wednesday.
All signs are now pointing to the Hawks either trading their No. 3 and 11 picks in an effort to avoid getting younger, or taking Al Horford at No. 3 and either Crittenton or Law with the 11th pick. “I think Acie is more of a scorer, more of a score-first/pass-second,” coach Mike Woodson said after the workout. “Javaris is probably more of a distributor. Both have good size so they can defend at that spot. We need that. We struggled with that last year because of injuries to Speedy [Claxton] and [Tyronn] Lue. It just didn’t enable us to have a point who could get up the floor and harass the other point guard.” The rest of this year’s draft somewhat hinges on what the Hawks do with the No. 3 pick, so stay tuned. Wright doesn’t appear to be a real option for the Hawks.

Point guard Javaris Crittenton was selected with the 19th pick by the L.A. Lakers.
They needed a point guard and JC was the best one still on the board. Jordan Farmar should be given the starting job, meaning Crittenton will likely be a backup for the Lakers next season.

The Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday signed first-round draft pick Javaris Crittenton. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Selected 19th overall out of Georgia Tech, Crittenton averaged 14.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists last season. He could end up being Jordan Farmar’s backup since Smush Parker will not return to the team. However, it’s unlikely that he’ll have fantasy value this season. Crittenton will play for the Lakers’ summer-league team, which starts on Sunday.
  • MIN Point Guard #10
Grizzlies’ point guard Mike Conley was out again on Saturday, as he recovers from a rib and chest contusion.
Kyle Lowry has played well as a starter in Conley’s absence and the Grizzlies just acquired point guard Javaris Crittenton from the Lakers, so it will be interesting to see how they divvy up minutes between their trio of talented but raw guards. Conley is now day-to-day, so we’ll find out soon enough.

In a deal geared toward salary-cap relief, the Memphis Grizzlies have reportedly traded big man Pau Gasol to the Lakers for F/C Kwame Brown, G Javaris Crittenton and first-round picks in 2008 and 2010.
Gasol’s name had not come up much lately in trade talks, but this is big news for the Lakers, as he can play center until Andrew Bynum returns from a knee injury, then slide over to power forward. Darko Milicic, Hakim Warrick and even Juan Carlos Navarro should all see a boost in fantasy value for Memphis with this news. Gasol has missed three of his last four games with a back injury, but it must not be too serious if the Lakers were willing to trade for him. Although, getting rid of Kwame was probably intriguing to them, regardless of how Gasol’s back is feeling. Brown’s contract expires at the end of the season.

Pau Gasol was traded to the Lakers on Friday for F/C Kwame Brown, G Javaris Crittenton and two first-round draft picks.
“It shows a great deal of commitment from the organization,” Kobe Bryant said. “It’s a great step.” Gasol should fit in well with the Lakers and maintain most of his fantasy value, while Ronny Turiaf should get the call at power forward until Andrew Bynum returns to action from a knee injury. The Lakers have a nice fantasy schedule over the rest of the season, so this may have been a blessing in disguise for Gasol’s owners. Meanwhile, Hakim Warrick, Darko Milicic and Juan Carlos Navarro should all see a bump in value for the Grizzlies.
