The Bulls will waive Rick Brunson today and sign Jannero Pargo to a 10-day contract.
Pargo was let go by Toronto earlier this month. Paul Shirley will also be signed to a second 10-day contract.
  • CHA Point Guard #5
The Lakers picked Jannero Pargo over Tracy Murray for the final spot on their playoff roster.
Murray can still shoot, but the Lakers prefer Pargo’s athleticism right now.
  • CHA Point Guard #5
If the Bulls re-sign Chris Duhon, it’s unlikely that Pargo will return to the Bulls.
Pargo visited Cleveland recently, and he could back up Eric Snow for the Cavs.
  • CHA Point Guard #5
Free agent point guard Jannero Pargo agreed to a two-year, $2.1 million deal with the New Orleans Hornets on Thursday.
He’ll play third-string point guard behind Chris Paul and Bobby Jackson, which means he won’t see much playing time this season.
  • CHA Point Guard #5
Jannero Pargo signed his two-year contract with the Hornets on Wednesday.
He has had some big games in the past for the Bulls, but they’ve been few and far between. He’s also likely to have a few big nights for the Hornets this season, but he’ll have no fantasy value.
  • CHA Point Guard #5
Jannero Pargo scored 15 points off the bench on Thursday, hitting 6-of-9 shots from the field (including three treys) with three rebounds, two assists, and a steal in 19 minutes.
Pargo will struggle for value if/when Joe Johnson (knee) returns after the break, so there’s no reason to get too excited over this line.
  • NOP Head Coach #34
Willie Green’s (back) return date remains uncertain.
Green has not played since February 29 due to his bad back and it’s clear that the Hawks won’t rush him back until he’s ready. Kirk Hinrich and Jannero Pargo will continue to see minutes at shooting guard with Green sidelined.
  • CHA Point Guard #5
Jannero Pargo (back) returned to practice on Saturday and said that he’ll be ready to play in Game 1 vs. the Celtics.
Pargo will have a role in the Hawks’ rotation, but isn’t likely to raise many eyebrows -- he averaged 5.6 points and 1.9 assists this season, logging 13 minutes per game. His return takes some pressure off Jeff Teague and Kirk Hinrich.
  • FA Small Forward #55
Updating a previous item, Joe Johnson (knee) will not play in either of Atlanta’s next two games.
The Hawks will let Johnson rest his knee with the hope that it gets stronger. Johnson has been dealing with tendinitis and his knee is not where the team wants it to be. Willie Green (back) will also be out the next two games, and both Jannero Pargo and Kirk Hinrich should see a lot of time at shooting guard.
  • CHA Point Guard #5
Jannero Pargo played during crunch time and finished with 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting with one rebound, two assists, and a 3-point shot in 18 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Pargo has been used in a closing role in a handful of games whenever Larry Drew doesn’t like what he’s getting from his starting backcourt. There’s not enough here to make an add in most cases, but if Joe Johnson’s knee injury is serious he’ll be a guy to watch. Willie Green’s return will only complicate matters.
