Jake LaRavia (right ankle sprain) is doubtful to return to Sunday’s game against the Thunder.
Due to the injury, LaRavia was limited to 14 minutes off the bench. The Grizzlies forward went scoreless, missing his lone shot attempt, and finished with two rebounds and two assists. Memphis next plays on Tuesday in Phoenix, and LaRavia’s absence would not significantly impact fantasy basketball.
  • MEM Power Forward #15
Brandon Clarke (right knee soreness) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Thunder.
Clarke is on the injury report after playing both games of Memphis’ Thursday/Friday back-to-back against the Raptors and Pelicans. With Santi Aldama (ankle) considered week-to-week, the Grizzlies would be down two rotation frontcourt players if Clarke cannot play on Sunday. Jay Huff, who recently returned from an ankle injury, and Jake LaRavia may pick up additional minutes off the bench if Clarke sits.
  • MEM Point Guard #36
Marcus Smart (right index finger injury) and Santi Aldama (left ankle sprain) have been ruled out for Friday’s Grizzlies-Pelicans game.
Smart will miss his third straight game while Aldama will miss his first game after logging just three minutes in his latest contest. Scottie Pippen Jr. and Jake LaRavia will have chances to step into larger roles ahead of the weekend.
  • MEM Power Forward #7
Santi Aldama (left ankle sprain) is doubtful to return to Thursday’s game against Toronto.
Aldama played three minutes before exiting Thursday’s game with a sprained ankle. His chances of returning are slim, so Jake LaRavia should play more minutes off the bench. He’s only worth adding if Aldama is forced to miss an extended period.
  • MEM Shooting Guard #22
Desmond Bane is questionable for Monday’s matchup with the Clippers due to an illness.
Bane’s late addition to the injury report suggests he’s on the wrong side of questionable to face Los Angeles. If he’s ultimately ruled out, expect Scotty Pippen Jr., Jake LaRavia and Luke Kennard to see increased run.
  • MEM Shooting Guard #10
Luke Kennard (illness) has been ruled out for Sunday’s Grizzlies-Wizards game.
Kennard is set to miss a third straight contest after logging just six minutes against the Mavericks his last time out. Jake LaRavia will likely keep getting consistent minutes off the bench with Kennard out.
  • MEM Shooting Guard #10
Luke Kennard (illness) is questionable to play against Sacramento on Thursday.
Kennard is a late addition to the injury report, but he hasn’t played a large enough role this season to impact fantasy basketball. If he is forced to miss this game, his minutes will likely be divided between Marcus Smart, Jaylen Wells and Jake LaRavia, among others. Memphis runs a large enough rotation that Kennard’s absence won’t directly benefit any individual player enough to give them a fantasy boost.
  • MEM Small Forward #3
Jake LaRavia had 19 points (8-of-9 FGs), two rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers against the Pistons on Wednesday.
It’s difficult to draw conclusions about bench players on the Grizzlies in a blowout win playing without Ja Morant. There’s no question LaRavia has been playing well as of late, but he’s going to be difficult to trust once Ja Morant returns given that Marcus Smart came back earlier this week. LaRavia will be on the streaming radar in deeper formats when he has a path to playing time.
  • MEM Point Guard #36
Marcus Smart (illness) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Bulls.
Smart will remain out for a fourth consecutive game, meaning more rotation minutes for Jake LaRavia and Luke Kennard. Given how well he’s played, LaRavia is worthy of streaming consideration in deep leagues.
  • MEM Shooting Guard #46
John Konchar (illness) is not on the injury report ahead of Saturday’s matchup with Chicago.
It was just a one-game absence for Konchar, which opened up a few extra minutes for Luke Kennard and Jake LaRavia. Even though he is back in the lineup, he isn’t a player to consider rostering in standard leagues, and he won’t cut into the minutes of Kennard or LaRavia, who have played significant roles lately.
