Isaiah Canaan said Jahlil Okafor is “going to open up everything” for the 76ers offense.
“He’s a big presence on the post,” Canaan said. “He can score the ball and he can pass. With a big guy who can do that and draw a lot of attention, he’s going to open up everyone else on the team and he’s going to be big piece for us.” While everyone is hung up on small-ball, having a dominant big man within three feet of the rim should help spacing around the 3-point line. Although, Okafor’s passing out of the post was nowhere near as effective as Karl-Anthony Towns. Canaan is a late-round flier for now.

  • MIL Point Guard #7
Isaiah Canaan has signed a contract with Shandong of the CBA.
Canaan will be able to return stateside once the CBA season concludes, and perhaps he’ll be able to earn a small deal with an NBA team to serve as a backup. He’s completely irrelevant in fantasy hoops, though.

The Bucks waived Isaiah Canaan before his 10-day contract was up.
Milwaukee needed the roster space to sign Pau Gasol, so this move was inevitable. He’s now played 19 games with the Suns, seven with the Wolves and four with the Bucks this season.
  • NBA Point Guard #5
Eric Bledsoe (back soreness) was a late scratch and will not play against the Jazz on Saturday.
Bledsoe was expected to play until about a half-hour before tip-off. With George Hill (groin) and Malcolm Brogdon (foot) already out, Isaiah Canaan and Trevon Duval will split the point guard minutes with Tony Snell and Pat Connaughton also available to see more time for the short-handed Bucks.
  • MIL Point Guard #7
Isaiah Canaan made his debut for the Bucks on Monday with six points, two assists, one rebound and two triples in 12 minutes.
The Bucks signed him to a 10-day contract right before tip-off because it sounds like George Hill (groin) could miss a few games. Either way, Canaan has little to no fantasy appeal as long as Eric Bledsoe is upright.
  • MIL Point Guard #7
The Bucks announced Monday that Isaiah Canaan has been signed to a 10-day contract.
With George Hill sidelined due to injury, the Bucks have signed Canaan to a deal in order to improve the team’s depth at the point guard position. The veteran guard was recently released by Minnesota after his second 10-day contract with the team.
  • MIL Point Guard #7
The Wolves plan to sign Isaiah Canaan to a second 10-day contract.
It’s an easy decision for Minnesota, as they are desperate for PG depth due to a rash of injuries. Derrick Rose (ankle), Tyus Jones (ankle) and Jerryd Bayless (toe) were all ruled out of Friday’s loss to the Pelicans. Canaan started and scored 12 points with two rebounds, five assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes
  • MIL Point Guard #7
Isaiah Canaan scored 12 points with two rebounds, five assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes during a start against the Pelicans on Friday.
It was a start out of desperation with Derrick Rose (ankle), Tyus Jones (ankle) and Jerryd Bayless (toe) out while Jeff Teague was limited to 17 minutes in his return. The Wolves are off until Monday, so maybe that quartet will be healthier. Canaan is only worth a speculative add in deep leagues.
  • MIL Point Guard #7
Isaiah Canaan will start against the Pelicans on Friday.
Jeff Teague is finally back in action and will come off the bench, but the Wolves are now going with their fifth starting point guard this season. Tyus Jones, Jerryd Bayless and Derrick Rose are out, so Canaan should get decent minutes with Teague possibly on a limit. He’s worth a look in deep leagues.
  • MIN Point Guard #8
Jerryd Bayless (sore right big toe) is questionable for Friday’s game vs. New Orleans.
Bayless injured his toe in the 4th quarter of Thursday’s loss to the Magic. He did not return to the contest. Jeff Teague (foot) is also listed as questionable and Derrick Rose (ankle) has been ruled out. Isaiah Canaan may end up starting, which would make him a very popular DFS target.
