Hunter Tyson finished Sunday’s preseason loss to the Celtics with eight points (2-of-5 FG), 10 rebounds, two assists and a three-pointer across 30 minutes.
Tyson led all players in minutes and boards, and he enjoyed a solid showing in Abu Dhabi in a rematch of Friday’s loss to Boston. Tyson logged only 2.7 minutes per game across 18 appearances as a rookie, but heading into Year 2, the Clemson product is expected to see an uptick in playing time. He and Julian Strawther (17 points in 29 minutes) are both worth a look as late-round flyers in deeper leagues for the 2024-25 campaign.
  • DEN Power Forward #4
Hunter Tyson led the Nuggets with 23 points (8-of-18 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and three 3-pointers in an 86-71 win over Indiana on Thursday.
After not seeing the floor much as a rookie, Tyson hasn’t had a great summer thus far. However, he had his best performance on Thursday after shooting 5-of-18 from the floor in their last game and 2-of-11 in the game before that. As an older prospect, Tyson was drafted last summer as a player that can contribute early. However, even if he is able to establish a spot in the rotation this upcoming season, he isn’t a player that will contribute in fantasy.
  • DEN Power Forward #4
Hunter Tyson (left finger sprain/fracture) is active for Wednesday’s game against the Kings.
Tyson is available for Wednesday’s game but will not impact fantasy basketball. The second-round pick out of Clemson is not in the rotation most nights.
  • DEN Power Forward #4
Hunter Tyson (left finger sprain/fracture) is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Kings.
Injured on February 11, Tyson has not been a consistent member of the Nuggets rotation when healthy. His return would not impact fantasy basketball.
  • DEN Power Forward #4
Hunter Tyson (left finger sprain/fracture) will remain sidelined for Thursday’s game against the Wizards.
Tyson will remain sidelined after also missing their last game before the All-Star break. However, his continued absence will have no effect on fantasy hoops.
  • DEN Power Forward #4
Hunter Tyson (left finger sprain/fracture) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Kings.
Tyson injured his finger during Monday’s loss to the Bucks, a game he saw action in due to the Nuggets being blown out. His absence will not impact fantasy basketball or Denver’s nightly rotation.
  • DEN Power Forward #4
Hunter Tyson (illness) is available for Wednesday’s game against the Rockets.
Tyson is good to go after missing Monday’s win over the Clippers. However, with Nikola Jokic back in action, the rookie’s presence will not impact fantasy basketball.
  • DEN Center #15
Nikola Jokic (low back pain) and Hunter Tyson (illness) are questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Rockets.
Jokic didn’t even make the trip to Los Angeles for Monday’s game against the Clippers, which the Nuggets won with DeAndre Jordan filling the void at center. Jordan would get another start if the Joker can’t play, but he’s at risk of completely falling out of the rotation if the two-time MVP can. As for Tyson, his status won’t impact fantasy basketball.
  • DEN Power Forward #4
Hunter Tyson (illness) has been ruled out for Monday’s game against the Clippers.
With Nikola Jokic and Aaron Gordon already ruled out, Tyson appeared to be in line for credible rotation minutes. Unfortunately, an illness will prevent that from happening. Zeke Nnaji should play plenty against the Clippers, boosting his streaming value.
  • DEN Power Forward #50
Aaron Gordon (right heel strain) will miss Monday’s matchup with the Clippers.
Gordon will sit out a second straight game, potentially paving the way for Justin Holiday to make another spot start. Holiday logged 27 minutes Sunday against the Spurs, delivering a modest 5/2/3/1 line. Peyton Watson, Julian Strawther and Christian Braun led the bench in minutes, but with Nikola Jokic (back) and Hunter Tyson (illness) questionable, guys like Zeke Nnaji and DeAndre Jordan could be asked to step up as well.
