Besson

Besson was selected with the final pick in June’s draft after averaging nearly 14 points per game for the New Zealand Breakers last season. The fact that he’ll play overseas next season doesn’t come as a surprise due to Milwaukee’s depth on the wings. In four games for the Bucks’ summer league team, Besson averaged 2.5 points in just over 11 minutes per appearance.

Through 25 games with the New Zealand Breakers last season, Besson put in averages of 13.9 points, 4.0 boards, 2.3 dimes, 2.0 triples and 1.8 turnovers per contest on 38.6% shooting from the floor and 79.5% at the stripe. The 20-year-old guard can be streaky from distance (30.8%), but he did convert a very respectable 67% of his shots at the rim, which is particularly impressive given his slight frame (6-foot-4, 190 pounds). He’s an intriguing long-term prospect, but we wouldn’t expect much from him in fantasy hoops his rookie season.
