Former Celtic Glen “Big Baby” Davis has agreed to pay $15,000 to avoid jail time on drug charges, the Associated Press reports.
The former NBA big man was facing up to five years in jail, but will be allowed to pay a $15,000 fine to get his charges dropped, according to his attorney. Big Baby was arrested at a Maryland hotel with 126 grams (4 ounces) of marijuana and a briefcase containing $92,000 last February, and indicted on seven counts of drug possession and distribution. He was hoping to make an NBA comeback, but that doesn’t appear to be even a remote option at this point.

J.J. Redick scored 15 points and hit three 3-pointers in Wednesday’s ugly loss to the Knicks.
Redick is having a nice season and was one of the only Magic players to show up tonight. Glen Davis also played well off the bench in the blowout with 10 points and six boards in 25 minutes, but neither player is must-own in most leagues, although Redick does have some value.

Ryan Anderson has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the 76ers.
Anderson was hoping to return over the weekend, but it now looks like Ryno will shoot for a return on Monday against the Pistons. Glen Davis should get the start in his place and makes for a good spot-start if necessary.

Glen Davis returned from his knee injury and went off for 27 points, seven rebounds, three steals and a block on 12-of-16 shooting in a loss to the Celtics.
Davis has been awesome while filling in for Dwight Howard and had one of his best games tonight. Keep rolling him out there as long as his knee allows him to play.

Dwight Howard will have back surgery and miss the rest of the season.
The speculation surrounding the severity of Howard’s back injury isn’t going to go away, and hopefully details surrounding the surgery can answer some questions. Until then, the timing of his injury and all of the drama make the situation much too fishy for us to bury our heads in the sand, here. Glen Davis will continue to provide the early late-round value he has been giving over the past week, and has a hint of upside, as well.

Glen Davis (sprained ankle) is still expected to start Game 1 vs. the Magic.
Big Baby has said that he will play, and this is terrific news for the short-handed Magic. In 13 starts this season he averaged 15.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 0.5 blocks, but in fantasy postseason leagues he’s likely to fizzle out after the first round.

Glen Davis (sprained ankle) started on Saturday, as expected, finishing Orlando’s upset victory with 16 points, 13 rebounds (six offensive) and three blocks in 40 minutes.
Big Baby looked like a bad investment for the Magic for much of the season, as Brandon Bass was having a fine season in Boston, but he’s been great with Dwight Howard sidelined down the stretch. He had his shot blocked six times by the Pacers, not unusual for the undersized, hops-deficient big man, and finished 8-of-20 from the field.

Stan Van Gundy said that Ryan Anderson (ankle) will “likely be out another five or six days.”
Orlando plays on Thursday against the Knicks and Saturday against the Sixers, so that would seemingly rule out Anderson from participating in those games. There is also a chance Anderson could miss Monday’s game against the Pistons as well as Tuesday’s game against the Wizards. Owners will have to check back for a more definitive update on his condition when one becomes available, but it’s obvious that Anderson’s injury is more than a day-to-day situation. He’s wearing a walking boot and said that his ankle remains swollen.

Dwight Howard (back) is listed as ‘questionable’ for Thursday’s game vs. the Knicks.
Glen Davis has played well subbing for Dwight, but the Magic have dropped two straight without their defensive anchor, and they’ve surrendered 100+ points in four straight. All owners can do is hope for some good news after shootaround on Thursday. There has been no indication, meanwhile, that the league intends to do anything about the alleged cause of Dwight’s injury, a punch from Brendan Haywood.

Glen Davis scored a career-high 31 points in a start at center for the Magic, as Dwight Howard sat out with a sore back on Tuesday.
Davis added 10 rebounds, three steals and a block on 11-of-22 shooting, but Howard is due back soon. Ryan Anderson was also out with a sprained ankle, so Davis will be worth a look if either big man misses another game for the Magic.
