Jordan decline to elaborate, but the decision may have had something to do with Arenas throwing the ball 20 rows into the stands just before halftime when he didn’t get a foul call. Arenas still managed team highs in points (22) and assists (6).

X-rays to Arenas’s ankle were negative for fractures, but his return is uncertain.

Arenas practiced yesterday, but not at full speed. Coach Eddie Jordan said if his point guard feels okay today, he might play.

Arenas isn’t required to spend the full five games on the IL since the Wizards didn’t make a corresponding move. He’s in pain, but still feels he could help the team by being at least a shooter off the bench. Even though he could play soon, the Wizards will surely take the cautious route and let him heal first.

Unless you have a very good alternative, you’ll probably want Arenas back in your lineup next week.

Tuesday is now Arenas’ projected return date.
