Coach Jeff Bzdelik said he wasn’t sure Francisco Elson, who has been playing with foot and hip injuries, would be able to go Wednesday.
For now, Elson is expected to start again tonight with Marcus Camby and Nene still in doubt.
  • Now that Nene and Marcus Camby are healthy, Francisco Elson has been pushed to the end of the Denver bench.
During an eight-game stretch from Nov. 19 to Dec. 3, Elson averaged 8.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in 25.3 minutes, and coach Jeff Bzdelik even hyped him for the All-Rookie second team. But in the next seven games, Elson was a DNP in two, averaging just 0.8 points, and 1.2 rebounds in 6.4 minutes. When asked about Elson’s playing time, Bzdelik became very frustrated, lashing out at the media: “How do I say this without having my blood pressure raised? You can’t play (bleeping) 12 (bleeping) guys, period. I know you’re going to make a big (bleeping) deal about it every (bleeping) time. (Bleep). I’ve had it.” So, no reason to own Elson, unless maybe you’re a frightened Camby owner.
  • Nuggets signed center Francisco Elson to a multiyear contract.
Elson, a 7-foot, 235-pound center, spent four years playing in Spain after being selected by Denver in the second round of the 1999 NBA draft. He’ll be a reserve this season.
  • The Spurs signed 7-foot center Francisco Elson on Wednesday.
Elson is expected to start for the Spurs, although other centers in that role have struggled since the departure of David Robinson. Elson should be a decent second or third fantasy cetner this season.
  • The Sixers have reportedly waived C Francisco Elson.
Elson was brought in as insurance earlier this season but is no longer needed by the team. It could be a sign that the team feels encouraged about Spencer Hawes’ (Achilles) long-term outlook this season.
  • PHI Power Forward
Sixers recalled F Craig Brackins from the D-League.
Brackins will serve as depth now that Francisco Elson is no longer a part of the team.
  • Francisco Elson has reportedly signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Elson was in for a workout with Dan Gadzuric this week, and the Sixers are in desperate need of some depth in the big man department with both Spencer Hawes (Achilles) and Nikola Vucevic (thigh) nursing injuries. Elson will have absolutely no fantasy value.
  • Sixers signed C Francisco Elson.
The seven-foot center will serve as depth at the end of the bench for Philadelphia.
  • MIL Center #12
Dan Gadzuric is scheduled to work out for the 76ers on Thursday.
He’ll join fellow veteran Francisco Elson in the workout. The Sixers are looking to add some size with both Spencer Hawes (Achilles) and Nikola Vucevic (thigh) banged up. Neither player would have any fantasy value if signed by the Sixers.
  • Free agent C Francisco Elson will work out for the 76ers this week, a source tells HoopsHype.com.
The Sixers’ already thin front line has been decimated by injuries to Spencer Hawes (Achilles) and Nikola Vucevic (quad). Elson did spend some time with the Sixers late in the 2009-10 season as part of the Jodie Meeks trade. If signed, the 7-footer would be mere insurance.
