  • MIN Small Forward #97
According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Timberwolves have signed Eugene Omoruyi and Skylar Mays.
The Timberwolves are rounding out their training camp roster, with Omoruyi and Mays being the latest additions. Fantasy managers should not expect either to be impactful, as Omoruyi and Mays will not be on guaranteed contracts. The latter has one season of two-way contract eligibility remaining, while the former does not.
  • FA Small Forward #97
The Wizards have requested waivers on Eugene Omoruyi, per a team announcement.
Omoruyi’s contract wasn’t guaranteed for this season, so it isn’t surprising to see Washington make this move. Omoruyi played less than 10 minutes per game last season, so this won’t impact their rotation much.
  • WAS Small Forward #97
Eugene Omoruyi finished Sunday’s loss to Boston with 26 points, two rebounds, five assists and four three-pointers.
Omoruyi averaged just 8.8 minutes per game across 42 appearances before Sunday’s eruption, and he topped out at 16 points on February 4. The third-year man out of Oregon nearly matched his season high in the first half with 15 points, and he cruised past it through the final two quarters of the game. Omoruyi’s 23 minutes were second-fewest on the team, though he finished second in shot attempts and came away with an efficient 11-of-17 mark from the field. The 26 points are a new career-high for Omoruyi, who finished behind only former Ducks teammate Payton Pritchard (38) for game-high in the scoring department.
  • WAS Small Forward #97
Eugene Omoruyi (illness) is available for Friday’s game against the Bulls.
Omoruyi was upgraded from questionable to available, and he’s likely to play rotation minutes off the bench. However, Tristan Vukcevic and Anthony Gill are better options for fantasy managers whose leagues are active.
  • WAS Shooting Guard #13
Jordan Poole (illness), Richaun Holmes (left toe contusion), and Eugene Omoruyi (illness) are questionable for Friday’s game against the Bulls.
While Poole has been a fixture in the starting lineup since Tyus Jones suffered a back injury, Holmes has missed Washington’s last seven games. Rookie Tristan Vukcevic has benefitted the most from Holmes’ absence, with Omoruyi remaining in a reserve role. If Poole cannot play, Jared Butler would have the most to gain among Washington’s reserve guards.
  • WAS Power Forward #33
Kyle Kuzma (right ankle sprain) and Richaun Holmes (left big toe contusion) have been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Kuzma and Holmes were initially questionable for Tuesday’s game. Their absences will result in more minutes for Johnny Davis, Anthony Gill, Patrick Baldwin Jr., and Eugene Omoruyi, with Gill considered probable to play. Of the four, Gill has some potential as a deep-league streamer, but none are essential on a 14-game night.
  • WAS Power Forward #16
Anthony Gill (right knee soreness) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Raptors.
Gill joins the lengthy list of sidelined Wizards, meaning more playing time for Eugene Omoruyi and Patrick Baldwin Jr. However, neither is worth streaming on a day with 13 games on the schedule.
  • WAS Power Forward #33
Kyle Kuzma (right ankle sprain) has been downgraded to out for Sunday’s matchup with Toronto.
Kuzma will sit out for a second straight game and for the fourth time in their last five. Johnny Davis started in their last game, but if he remains in the starting unit, he still won’t be worth streaming. Anthony Gill is questionable, but he logged 31 minutes in their last game. If he doesn’t play, Eugene Omoruyi and Patrick Baldwin Jr. should see extra minutes off the bench.
  • WAS Power Forward #16
Anthony Gill (right knee soreness) is questionable to play against the Raptors on Sunday.
Gill is a late addition to the injury report, and with Kyle Kuzma sidelined, Gill will play a ton of minutes if he is available. He logged 31 minutes in their last game without Kuzma, but if he joins Kuz on the sidelines, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Eugene Omoruyi should step into a larger role.
  • WAS Small Forward #97
Eugene Omoruyi (right ankle sprain) is not on the injury report for Tuesday’s game against Milwaukee.
Omoruyi will be available for Tuesday’s game, and rotation minutes should be available to him. Kyle Kuzma’s continued absence has freed up playing time, but this does not make Omoruyi a player worth streaming in most leagues.
